Tokemon's Party Cup Grow

So this is only my second time around growing. My first grow is nearing completion; the link to it's in my signature, if you wanna check it out.

Although the cab is the same specs
((1.5'x2.5'x3'/ 315W CFL/ single CPU fan active exhaust-passive intake))
...this grow will be completely different for me. The first grow was an auto-flowering strain. This will be a photo period sensitive. First grow was in 2-3 gallon pots. This will be in a 16oz solo cup.

I'm not really sure to expect and I randomly decided to do it after seeing the post for the competition, but I try to make it worth my while as well as yours. So follow along...:bigjoint:...

So for the competition I've decided to grow some freebie seeds I got. KC Brains Afghani Special it says. We'll see how it turns out, lol.
In the attached photos are my three entries. The largest of three is 9 days old. The other two are 4 days along.

So it took a moment, but it had to sink in a bit that I wasn't growing in a big pot... now the plants are on a more appropriate watering/feeding schedule and they look much better.
I topped the eldest of the plants 3 days ago. The other 2 will be topped in 2 days @ 14days total. This my first attempt topping, so I hope it all goes well...
In the pics below (left to right): Group shot, eldest plant topped @ 14 days, eldest plant today...
I've noticed this strain is pretty particular about it's environment. Very water and nute sensitive. One plant has a bit of nute burn :/

That's awesome! I just grew 1.25oz in a 2-gallon pot and was happy. 1.5oz in a solo cup is far beyond my skills, or they may have just had a higher yielding strain, like the grass-o-matic maxi.
Anywho, although I've grown autos before, this party cup grow will not be an auto strain. I'll be switching them to 12/12 in a wk or two.

So the little ones are doing decently well. I'm still getting used to the party cup method of growing, but I think it'll improve drastically soon. I just harvested & completed a separate grow that consumed more of my time and attention.

All the plants were topped @ 2 weeks of growth respectively. Well technically, I one was FIM'd. I also am experimenting with a slightly different approach to LST. Instead of using string to tie down the new growth, I've just been tucking the new growth under the next lowest set of leaves. It seems to be working decently as well. The results aren't as dramatic as when I used string, but it is still evident by the growth pattern. Only other thing I've done to them is prune away shaded, yellowed, and nute burned leaves.

Tomorrow I will actually be switching the plants over into flowering. So hopefully by the next update or so the ladies will come out of hiding and the gentlemen will be tossed into the round file, lol.

So the plants have been under 12/12 for a bit less than a week now. I've yet to go hunting for sex, so no word on that.
What is the word, however, is "Topping." This being the first time I've done so, I may be overjoyed with this new technique in the arsenal, but I think it's awesome. My fave is the FIM'd plant actually, but that's just because I think it looks cooler, lol. The final verdict will come on harvest day I'm sure.
Pics below... now time to continue my high:joint:

I finally gave in and checked for sex yesterday. There was a girl, a guy, and an undetermined. The young man trying to hang around my daughter is no longer with us :)
The remaining two have been flowering for 12 days now. I've also went ahead with the LST & they are getting quite bushy, I must say.
Welp, that's all for now. Pics are below.

So the girls are on their 22nd day of flowering. Things have been kind of bad lately though. Their fan leaves are yellowing like crazy. I snipped the bottom ones and upped the nutrients quite a bit. Thought I'd get nute burn, but just more yellowing. To add on top of that, the other day my timer busted and the plants were on light for almost a day straight, followed by dark for a day straight. They're back on a regular schedule though.
They've been draining well and have been fed regularly.
Anyone know whats going on??:-?
