What are your thoughts on being a gentleman in the 21st century? Do you think it's an archaic concept? Do you think men should hold doors open for women, pay for dates, etc.? Or do you feel like doing those sorts of things takes something away from the equality factor between men and women in our culture?

The caller at around the 9 minute mark made a pretty good point about that I thought, and I think I'd feel the same way if the rolls were reversed; if there were social pressure for women to hold doors open for men for instance, I wouldn't like that. I think it would make me feel similar to how handicapped people feel when people try to do things for them they want to do themselves.

Go ahead. Stop being a gentlemen. Don't hold doors, don't compliment and don't lift heavy things. It won't take much time for some other guy to figure out what you're not doing and steal that tang out from under you. Enjoy being a douche and wondering why certain things don't get done on your behalf by your lady.

i'll hold the door for anyone. Man, woman, young or old. 98% of the time. A lot of times i'll open the car door for my lady.....Just how I am.

It's not that hard to not be an ass hole...
Sometimes I go through a hole week with out having a possible incidence of being ass hole....

I usually am more out of habbit than anything else. I don't know why anyone would try to when most woman I meet don't act like ladies and would rather be with a man that treats her like shit.

Usually friends of friends. I think it's time for different friends or maybe I should scout the book store or farmers market, depending on the time of year.
