Hey everyone hope every one is having a very merry green Xmas. So, my papaya has gotten a bit big despite my topping l.s.t.'ing and all that fun stuff. It is too close too the light and raising it (light) is not an option.
I'm growing 2 papaya by Nirvana seeds. Fox farms newts. In soil. I'm in week 5 of flower and one of my top colas has been light burnt. I cannot raise the light. Not an option. So i guess my question is what if i top it again this lste in flower? Im not a pro or exactly a newbie, more something in the middle. Any info or suggestions is appreciated.
Pics 1,2 are of about how far away i was able to get them from the light.
Pics 3,4 are of the damage from the light/heat.
5,6 are just pics of the set up. Thanx in advance. Namaste. 20141215_152032.jpg20141215_152210.jpg 20141215_152019.jpg 20141215_152252.jpg 20141215_151935.jpg 20141215_151939.jpg

I'm trying to do that as of now. Im tightening it a little each morning. You may be onto something with the pot tipping. Ill look into it when the lights cut back on. Thanx friend.

When mine reach that stage I simply break their necks. They form large knuckles at the site. Don't get to vigorous with the breaking or you'll end up holding a top cola LOL. It's called Super Cropping (why I do not know), but it works for me :) and my sometimes to enthusiastic plants :)

Here ya go I weebled upstairs and took a pic of my Jack Herer (who is now marked for death).

Bend the colas so they are parallel to the ground. The buds will continue to fill out. Bending may look painful to the plant but they allow the plant to survive without beig topped. Actually, if you removed the top colas now you would be closer to super-cropping than topping. Bending vs. topping: bigger yield with less plant stress via bending.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Let it burn, and harvest the top early
there you go again changing your avatar! it's cool to see a new one often but pissing me off at the same time. reminds of this cranking shroom trip where i could only close my eyes and and hang on for about half an hour. those avatar pics you've had the past week is exactly what i saw, but with more color.

Put me on the super cropping list 2.

Best method for you here.
Increase's yield too!
Pretty new to the hydro thing but I do use supercropping on most runs. I mostly have great success but have had some strains get some really strange bud structure after doing it. Seem to get foxtailing if thats what its referred to. The buds get elongated and quite airey. Being a semi-newb it could very well be me. Has anyone else had this happen? PS for the most part it works great for me as severe as it seems lol.

I've been slowly l.s.t.'ing them sideways. Its kinda bizarre looking to see horizontal colas, but its working. Not at my spot a.t.m., but will be able to post pics later. Thanks again.
I'm not for or against super cropping. I've never tried to do it so the lack of exp makes me too nervous. I will definitely give it a go on my next grow. Just for the education if nothing else.
