So 2 females, both bagseed, same genetics. 3 weeks into 12/12 (2 weeks since I found a light leak first week), the UNTOPPED female is showing explosive pistil growth and has multiple tops already. The topped one barely has any pistils (they are there, just growing really slow). They recieve the exact same watering/ nutes. No nute burn on untopped female, so my question is, do topped plants flower later?? Or is this just genetics? Thanks.

The topped plant will be a bit behind the untopped plant. You are changing the growth pattern when you top the plant and it is trying to put the new growth on to make up for what was lost. From what I have found with my girls is to top a week or two before setting out to flower if you want them in the same cycle. I have no idea if this is true with all or even most strains, but this tends to be true in other type of plants.
Good Luck and Happy Growing

This is true.

Also, you can't expect same growth tendencies from two bagseeds. That's just too much genetic variety.

Dude!! Bagseed by definition is an unknown. You don't know what the fuck you have. Next time buy some quality seeds and then you will have better luck. You really are just setting yourself up for so many problems with bagseed. It just really is a bad place to try to save some money.

Please explain why is it bad to grow bagseed?

I would be happy to. originally a guy buys a seed from a reputable dealer of the strain. Say OG Kush. It's a good stable strain and it has the qualities that are particularly suited for his specific circumstance. Lets say and I;m totally making this up as an analagy for the sake of clarifying my position, that OG Kush is a great strain for an outdoor grow. It is known to do well in an arid environment and it takes heat well and is also drought tolerant and resistant to powdery mildew. Easy to grow generally speaking. So this guy has done his research and decides that OG Kush is his best bet for maximum yield and quality. He plants it in an outdoor grow according to his original plan. Little does he know that Bagseed Billy who lives in an apt. about a mile away is growing bagseed that is a cross between white widow and god only knows what else and unfortunately he knows shit about breeding but is too ignorant (not stupid mind you) but ignorant (there is a difference) of of the complications of growing in general and breeding new plants specifically and he has decided to grow his own seeds and become the next (fill in the blank) by developing a new cross strain. well all he manages to do is spread pollen to your grow and unfortunately you now have something other than what you wanted which was seedless OG KUSH. So now you have weed that is worth less than if it had no seeds but fuck it you don't want to take a hit so you sell the weed as OG Kush which I don't really blame you because you did nothing wrong. So now the next guy that you have sold the bag of seedy weed that you have sold as OG Kush finds a few seeds and he now plants what he believes to be OG Kush but we know that it isn't cuzz we know that it's a cross between OG Kush and white widow plus god only knows what else. Well what this last guy doesn't realize is that white widow is more suited to indoor (making this up) and it is not drought tolerant and is very very susceptable to spider mites and on top of everything else it is totally unstable due to being cross bred many times over with other pollen from plants that are very unstable bagweed so this guy is having all kinds of trouble growing what he believes is OG Kush which should not be exhibiting any of these problems. The crop barely comes to fruition and he is blaming the OG Kush for all the issues which we clearly know is not the strains fault. This analogy is not at all far fetched and is in fact really by definition what makes "bagweed Bagweed". You are stacking the deck for failure by planting seeds of unknown origin and if you are not buying from a reputable dealer and I mean that sincerely when I say reputable. On the other hand you can purchase seeds that are specifically adapted to your particular and preferred method of growing thereby stacking the deck for success. After you have purchased one seed, if you practice proper cloning techniques you will never have to buy another seed in your lifetime unless you choose to do so. Have I explained that well enough cuzz I could write a book on the downfalls of bagseed but I hope I don't have too. I'm really not that fast of a typist.

Well, when did you top it? when topping a plant you should give it two weeks at least to recover before you flip it to 12/12. Or else you will only be negatively effecting your growth & yield.

If you are going to top a plant you should top it right after the first set of alternating node appear as at that time you will not be cutting any more of the plant off than is absolutely necessary for perfect results. At that time the plant will recover sooner and the top can be used as a clone if you have a need and therefore mitigating any loss of vegetation. I usually do not top a plant unless I can use the top as a clone or I have some other good reason. Topping for four will give you colas that are almost identical in size to what you would have with only one top. The plants I have growing now are sporting colas up to 24" and are filling out very nicely. Sitting in the pot they are almost exactly the same height as the solid fence right next to my grow. Just the way I planned it. I love it when a plan comes together!!
