Topping right before switching to 12/12 ?

Hey all,

Was just wondering if you think its a good or bad idea? Muh girls are almost 6 weeks old and I plan to let them veg for another 2 weeks. I was going to top now but have decided that I want a little more vertical growth before going to flower. I was thinking I'd top and take a couple clones before flipping the lights over. Input?

Very bad idea. If you were going to top, you should have done it long ago. Now all you'll achieve is destroying your best cola and you'll get two puny buds instead. Take your clones from the bottom branches.

Topping now will give you enough recovery time (at least 1 week b4 flower),and two main colas will grow in it's place.
I top mid stretch of 12/12 for height control.

If you top it will have the effect of stunting the main stem ,while the main stem recoveres the lower stems will catch up and get stronger.It will bush your plant out absolutley guarunteed ,just give it a week or 2 before you flip

Don't top this close to flowering. As said above, it'll mess with bud production. If you want more vertical growth,LST. No stress on the plant and it won't mess with flowering.

After trying topping versus LST, I'll never top again.
