Topping vs tying down?

In my experience topping is best if you’re trying to have an organized/trained plant without a net. Tying it over doesn’t come out as clean and usually ends up with the plant off center in the pot, but that might just be my lack of experience with it.

for example this is one that I topped and then trained all the branches into a wheel.

This is exactly what I'm gonna do this run. I topped and have 4 nodes I'm gonna tie down in the wheel shape. I usually do it with 3 nodes.

The extra weight might be unrelated idk but I got 165g from the topped plant and 197g from the tied over plant.

You can have a nice bush with just tying down the top.

Nice. Looks bomb. I like a little of everything. Top once, tie down the mains, and defoliate when needed. But no topping is a lot less stress and no recovery time so things probably would move along alot quicker.
