im probably just going to buy potting soil anyways so would a .14/.14/.14 mixture be good if i blend it with some perlite, im also going to get some .10/.15/.10 plant food, it says all purpose so i figure its gotta be decent? anyways let me know what yall think before i make the trip to the store

usually potting soils are a bit lighter. ive used light potting soil (peat moss, perlite and limestone) and also heavy potting soil (compost) with success.

top soil = nutrient rich dirt.. potting soil = usually peat based with organic fertilizers added to it.

I use top soil with potting soil to make it go farther without breaking the bank and it has always worked great for me. If money isn't an option that is. if you have cash to spend I would recommend Fox Farms ocean forest potting soil. It's a bit pricey but totally worth the money and mixing it with top soil makes it go a lot farther.
