Transfer Question / Veg to Flowering

I have scoured the many posts on here that deal with the question that I am about to ask, but I have found none really that deal with the problem that I envision once I get going.

I am planning on having (6) plants in the veg stage using Bubbleponics as the method of growing. All (6) will be in one 19 gallon resevoir using the standard practice.

Once they have veg'ed, I plan on placing them into their individual bubbleponic (5 gallon bucket) home.

Here is the question; How does one seperate the (6) root balls from the one resevoir? With all of the video's and info that I have seen, it appears that they tangle quite easily amongst themselves. Is there a certain net or something to make them an individual ?

As always ... Thanks for your input and answers to the newbie question who wants to learn more ...

use a sharp knife to seperate them leaving equal root balls for each plant . Work slowly . btw , im an soil man basicly , I only start seeds and clones in H2O .Also, Did Maine get a shop open for its patients ?

Yes Hobie as far as the (8) Dispensaries go here in this great State. I believe the majority of them are under the "Northeast Alliance", whom has put up several million dollars to get the rights to distribute. I, for one, use a Caregiver. I like the local feel rather than from someone who is in it just for the money if you know hat I mean :-)

if you think there will be lots of roots its best to try to avoid them getting all tangled
you could try using some "spreader mat" running out the bottom of your pots downwards to make the roots grow directly downwards following the path of the mat
spreader mat can be used to train roots to grow where you want them

how long will your plants be in veg ? if its not long and there will not be many roots, it will not be an issue just cut them apart gently ,
if its over 4-5 weeks the roots could all be intertwined alot, its not good to have to cut them apart, but they will survive , just don't cut through the big main fat root
and never pull them apart that rips the roots use scissors .. good luck

What he said. Keep them separated somehow. I personally would not cut them unless it is less than 15% of the roots.

I am planning on 4 weeks of vegging ... therefore I expect some type of tangled mess on my hands (thats why I am asking now hat to do rather than when the time comes) ... how about a hair net or mesh bag placed on each as they grow during weeks 3 & 4 ? Or would that hurt the roots ?
