Transplant due to overwater.

My plant started to show signs of overwatering as shown in the pic below.



The soil is a 50/50 turf/perlite, but I guess the holes in the pot were too small and holding too much water, it was taking about a week for the soil to dry out.

So I transplanted it to a fabric 5 gallons pot using the same mix soil. The next day the plant was looking a lot better.

The new soil is drying out in 2 days tops, but the old soil (the soil where the plant was before the transplant) is still taking a long time to dry up!

Yesterday I watered only the new soil and today the plant looked droopy again.

What should I do or how should I water my plant?

Re potting or transplanting requires more water. Not the fix. Put it outside or in an open window out of direct sunlight for day if temps are above 65F and below 85F. Stop over doing it. Short but factual.

You may consider including perlite and vermiculate to the soil. Perlite for drainage/aeration, 1 part to 4 parts soil and vermiculite will hold water retention for the roots to merge with, 1 part to 3 parts soil.
