Transplanting During Flowering!

alright everyone. is it bad to tranplant during flowering? like im 23 days into flowering and i should have transplanted when i was about to set them tO FLOWER. any addvice would be helpfull.

it depends on what strain you are growing. everything that i have read has said not to do it unless absolutly necessarry. though on my last grow, i feel my harvest weight was hurt because i didn't transplant. i would say if you have more than 5 weeks left i would probably transplant just be careful not to disturb the roots.

just thought of another thing if it is plausable. you could cut the bottom of the pot that you have you plant in now and place it in another pot filled with medium and just let the plants grow through the bottom of one to the other.

Transplanting in flower is fine, as long as you know how to transplant properly. The most important thing is to just try to keep the soil from the last pot together...it's usually pretty easy when they're rootbound. If you can keep the soil together you won't disturb the roots, and if you don't disturb the roots you'll have no negative effects.

Great answer. I am going to be transplanting after sexing my outdoor grow this year. Actually I will transplant twice, the second time being after sexing. If you can do it gently there literally has almost zero effect on the plant.

thanks you guys. its pretty root bound. im transplanting from a 10 inch pt o a 12 in pot. cuz thats all i got. because the roots are shooting threw the bottom holes of the pot. but i keep the tray underneath with alil bit of water so th roots dont die off. so is that a good idea to do?????

hi ,, i startted mine in a 10 inch pot ,, and i noticed while flushing 1 time the roots comming out of the holes in the bottem so instead of transplanting i took another 10 inch pot filled it with soil & then cut the bottem 2 inches off the pot she is in right now , & just put her pot right on top of the new pot ,, worked just fine i put a lil ductape on there to hold it together ,, and then i had to do this again ,, so now its 3 pots high LOL ,, heres a pic

i used an extendable razor blade i just put the razor out just enough to cut thru the pot mabye liek 1/8 inch , ,, the trick i used was ,, put the razor out about 2 inches , put it over a candle for a minute so it gets nice & hot ( that way u dont have to struggle with tryin not to spill the pot) ,, after its nice & hot ,, pull it back into the handle so the blade is only out 1/8 inch & cut away ,, it took me about 10 minutes ,, & had to reheat about 15 times

Transplanting will not hurt your plant but its not a great Idea, and ill stand by that from experiance.. If your on a scedual your going to delay min 1 week!! The idea of having a plant that is rootbound is to stay root bound, others would say its never ideal to root bound a plant, this info comes from BC best ever grow studys done, and its pritty hard to argue with supporting evidance amoung those UV professor who all agree.. I inturn tryed there experiment and from your 10in to 12 inch, i dont know how big of a returnits going to be thats really worth the delay in your plants life.. But its your call, u know whats best for your ladies! good luck, its just info I have gathered and concluded an opinon

my plant isnt 10 to 12 inchs. its lik 25 and it just grew an inch today. would you like to see new pics of her of thismornig. she is really comming back strong. an i topped my baby too.

I talking about the info you gave,, u said transplanting fom a 10inch to a 12 in pot, cuz thats all u got. Im relating the info to that.. to me its deff not worth it. But who knows if its a 12 week strain and your just starting to flower go for it.

its just bagseed. but its maturing quickly. the hairs are turning a purplish red.:] itsfuckin sweeet

It's true a transplant could slow growth for a bit, but that's only true if you disturb the roots. Otherwise you should have no negative effects, and bigger pots equal bigger plants IMO

Here's an example...The first picture is the day I transplanted from 1 gallon pots to 3 gallon bags. The second picture is the same plant two days later. I never have problems with transplants...and like I said it's often easier when they are rootbound as the soil won't break up as much...Good Luck!

huburt, dont wanna play kid games and argue, but I dissagree! no mater what plants dont respond that well being the very next day.. I know u will disagree because you already made your point and will not take it back since no one wants to be called a lyer but.. The first image your leafs are droopy and soil wet, how can the next image take on such a transformation??

Nice, im not kidding you, its probably one of the best plants iv seen people grow on this site!! No light, looks like it came from seed 2!! Good vigor. Maybe keep it in that size, as long as u feed it with good nuts it should be fine, i mean, after all you soil becomes barrain and only acts as a support!! You supply als its food.
