does transplanting put a whole lot of stress on it?

also, is it safe to switch to a different soil in the vegetative stage?

just depends on how you transplant. if you have to yank on them to get them out or drop them or are rough yes but if its a smooth transaction not really. switching soils should not matter but hot soil is hot soil and plants sometimes show it esp if nutrient sensitive. good luck

Best to transplant into the same soil, so the plant does not have to adjust. take it easy, Transplanting is great for you plants in the end.

What Sebastien and cacamal said. Be as gentle as you can and your plants won't skip a beat.
