Trichs forming before flowers?

I'm not worried, and I'm taking it as a good sign...
It's the beginning of the 2nd week of flower, and the leaves at the top of one plant have started to turn frosty without a pistil in sight.

It's the first time I've seen this, but I'm new, so what do I know. Anybody else? Should I maybe expect this to be superior weed?

Had to edit this after re-reading my botany!
There are 3 types of trichome and something else called cystolith hairs found on cannabis leaves. These cystolith hairs can sometimes look a bit sparkly too, so they can sometimes be mistaken for trichs. Double check that before you get too excited.

Having said all that, one of my current girls had a few proper trichs showing at about 2 weeks into flower (although the pistils were showing too by then) and she is looking like some really amazing bud now...and she also looks to be a very quick finisher....so if they are indeed trichs then I think you could be onto a winner.

Actually.... what are you using for lighting? My reason for wondering, is this. Back in the early days of growing under lights we had many lighting issues to deal with. We where very limited to halogeon lights or florecent. Not allot was being acomplish with these two types. What I experienced with heat ammiting sources was, "sunburn". Our fovorite herb comes equiped with its own sun block. It will coat those leafs with sticky trichromes to reflect the damageing rays of the sun! That is why, if you've ever wondered, D.E.A. can so easily spot a patch is the woods. They create a hot spot amongst all the other vegitation surrounding it.This hot spot can be seen with infered equipment. So if your hand is too warm right over the top of the plant, adjust your light, to bright of a red or white spectrum will cause plants to "coat" themselfs with sun block also it can cause overstressed plants, and hermi conditions. peace

I've got some sativa right now that is about 4 weeks from germ they have little white hairs, "pre-flowers" popping right now under 24hr light 1000w mh eyehortilux bulb, Ive got some that will do that from seed at the fourth node. very easy to sex these plants. These spikey trichromes are also strain specific. Some strains will grow very nice potent bud but the trichrome never growes a lolly head and explodes all over the bud. Same with what grows on the leafs,I;ve got some that produces very tiny hears that rupture with just a touch as well as the type that swell to a lolly pop shaped t/c. many thousands of strains, crosses, psudos, and of course landtraces.
