Trim sugar leaves before or after initial dry?

Have heard a million different ways to dry and cure and im trying to figure out the best way to retain all the good smells without going through a "hay" stage. I'm on my first sensi dry and cure and my buds smelled awsome through the grow and after I chopped em but after two days drying they smelled like straight hay. I've been curing them now for a week and the smell is still there all though starting to fade. Can I avoid that shitty ass smell by not trimming the sugar leaves before the initial hang dry. If possible give me some info on this. Thanx.bongsmilie:lol::mrgreen:

Again, people are arguing about this, and have been for a long time.

All in all I think that the strain and wether you dry & cure it properly has more to do with how you cured bud turns out than leaving sugar leaves on before drying.
What it basically does it is slows the drying & curing process and it transfers some sugars and other substances to the bud from the leaves.

I'll stand firm on a proper dry & cure, that'll give you good results.
