I'd direct you to the hydrofarm green or blue scissors... buy 2 per person trimming, have them keep one soaking in alcohol while the other one is being used, switch and wipe the blade on papertowel after you pull them out of the alcohol...

those seem to be the best ones anyone likes...

A auto trimmer does a crap job... don't bother... if it ain't worth trimming by hand... it aint worth trimming...

a good trimmer (person) can do about 1lb per 4 hours... some a little faster... if it's a crap plant with little buds, it could take them 6-8hrs...

also don't forget your box of gloves... everyone changes gloves after a couple hours... the Large size are fine, but if your guys have big hands, get the XL size...

I'll be honest, I love my spin trimmer. I'll hand trim the big cola, especially if it's one I want to show off but everything else, it's off with the fan leaves and into the spin trimmer. Plus the trimmings left behind are perfect size for throwing in my Bubble Bags for hash. They come with both blades and cutting wires, I'd stick with blades.

When I had a lot of plants I would only chop a few branches off the plant ready for harvest. If you chop the whole plant you still have to cut off each branch and the leaves start wilting and getting limp and that makes it harder to trim. I like having the leaves as fresh and perky as possible so I can trim them fast. I have 3 huge stainless steel bowls when I trim, one for the branches I just cut, one for the trim and one for the finished buds to be hung up. Doing one big bowl at the time allows you to get up and stretch a little and put the scissors down. Having someone give you a neck and shoulder massage is a great thing too. The first thing I do is pull off the fan leaves and toss them into a trash can. When you're done, make sure you don't toss the fan leaves or any other evidence into YOUR trash. Bury it somewhere discrete if you can.

So you wouldn't recommend a trim pro machine not the auto trimmer one coz I don't like to cut my plants apart I like to trim and leave to dry whole it just always takes so long coz ill always have at least 2z a lady

Dry Whole, Leaves and all... When it's totally dry it's easyier to trim..

We usually grab a few plants, and do a quick trim, pulling all the big fan leaves off, and cutting the buds off the branches... and putting that all in a pile
then when we have a good size pile ready we'll trim.... we'll grab each bud, trim it, and break it down into individual buds, removing every bit of stem...

to analize what Potpimp said... he is trimming the buds while they are wet... that drys them out too quick, and looses smell...
he trims his "tops" by hand and then since he's got alot of popcorn he uses the auto trimmer to trim that for hash... which is useless because he should just throw the whole thing in there if he's making hash out of it... (if it isnt' worth trimming by hand it isn't worth trimming)

Hire a couple kids from the neighbor hood. Hey if they can cut your grass they can trim your pot :)

I have a cheapo ($180) ebay table top trimmer and it works great.

Here is my deal:

I have found that if you let the sugar leaves dry on the buds, they smell etc better.
I honestly believe that the leaves suck up bad tasting crap. I have really low RH, so I need all the help I can get.

I just crumble the leaves off as I use the buds. I make (crappy) hash out of the dried sugar leaves later.

That is my problem. If you trim wet, the hash is 100x better, full melt, flowery, delicious.
If you use a table top trimmer the leaves are absolutely shredded into tiny bits, which will hurt your hash quality.

So, in my opinion, the best buds are dried with the leaves on, at least the sugar leaves. Your hash quality will suffer (brown powder instead of tan, melty deliciousness)
If you want to trim wet then hand trimming will give you the best looking buds and incredible bubble hash.

So for the most part my table top trimmer now collects dust.
