Trimming fan leaves

Not a huge need to prune back leaves when growing outdoors as I understand it. I think you should be alright. The sun is good at getting in there.

Ah, then if you are handling airflow and humidity well I would still leave her. She doesn't look extremely dense.

If anything just tuck the leaves away as much as you can

any branch that you cut a fan leaf from right now, would surely have less buds than the others, and what it would have currently.

as mentioned above air flow is key.
The light/photons will reach the bud sites in same ways outdoors.

I’m getting at that the fan leaves serve a bigger purpose to the entire branch that it is on. To our eyes we see it blocking light so it makes sense to cut.
But this does not take into account what else the fan leaf may be doing for the flowers on its specific branch.

sorry if I’m not making sense.

It takes a week or two for plants to recover from a severe stress like defoliation. If the girl is flowering, leave her be if you don't want diminished returns.

Another good rule of thumb is only remove leaves when they have 50% damage or you're still in veg.
