Im running a 18 gallon rubermaid tub wiith 4 mature females under a 250 watt hps. Once done flowering the roots are huge and fill the contaner. Thats ariund 4 gallons per plant. I pulled roughly 24 grams a plant off my last harvest with 4 plants. When i grew soil, i used 1 gallon pots and pulled about 20 grams a plants dry. So i was thinking about making a 18 gallon ruermaid with 10 smaller plants except with dwc the roots will tangle easy.. So what if i trim the roots? not alot but keep them to about a gallon a piece?

you proibly could do that but you would have to take some of the veg growth off to because the root growth is to suport a certin amount of veg growth , when yuo cut the roots back the place will have to work harder to feed its self.

Let em tangle. Go buy a second tote. So when it is time to change nutes all u have to do is mix new nutes in the extra tub. Then just change over the whole lid with net pots and plants and all.
