Again, I'm at a loss. With all due respect, I don't remember being kept out of an economic opportunity. I've made a good wage through out my career, starting off as a union bricklayer in 1962 making $7.50 and hr. That was more that the college grad made. I applied for a govt grant to go to college in the evenings, eventually getting an engineering degree. I've played the stock market, made a few bucks. 401K was another great opportunity to make some good money, most of it was tax free at that. The opportunity is there, just go for it.IMO those lines make a lot more sense when you (or your elder males) are not being systematically kept out of the economic opportunities that your fellow citizens are able to access.
Or as an after thought; Perhaps I'm not getting it. Either way, I'm living the life of leisure, retired and loving it.
