NY AG James says NY civil case may take a back seat to Trump's federal case; what about other cases?

New York Attorney General Letitia James threw us a bit of a curve ball when she said not only will her civil case against former president Donald Trump take a back seat to Trump's new federal case, but she also said she believes New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg's prosecution and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis's case (which is pending indictment) will also take a back seat to the federal prosecution. DA Willis promptly indicate that the federal case will NOT impact her Georgia case.

This video discusses what usually happens when related cases simultaneously are up and running in the courts of multiple jurisdictions.

I find it hard to believe Donald could only get 8 to10 years for what he did with the MAL documents and obstruction. However, he is also facing time in NY, GA and over J6. How much time will Texeira get for essentially the same crimes or less, he has been in custody since his arrest and will remain there until his trial. Whatever his sentence, Cannon will have to pronounce it if she doesn't recuse herself from the case and if she delays it, she might end up screwing the republicans by having Donald out running around loose with a delayed trial. A delayed trial and Trump out free hurts the republicans most and Florida is known for the "rocket docket", speedy trials.

Jack has not opposed Trump's release yet and that seems curious to me, it should be easy enough to lock him up over this if Jack makes the effort. Maybe he will wait for Judge Canon to take things over before he makes the motion, it will put her on the spot right out of the starting gate, everybody else goes to jail until trial for this shit. She would be overruled on appeal I think, and it would put the stink on her early in the game.

Following Trump arraignment, Merrick Garland defends appointment of special counsel Jack Smith

Now can we get on with the False Electors/Green Bay Sweep Conspiracy prosecutions, Merrick???

I wouldn't second guess Jack, but if he wanted to, he could make one Helluva case for holding Trump in custody, he didn't ask for a thing, usually in these kinds of cases people are held in custody upon arrest until trial. Curious that he never made the effort yet, maybe he is waiting for judge Cannon, then he will make the motion and let her make the call and jail him or break precedent and give him a pass. If she cuts him loose, she is responsible for him, and it could be a way to get rid of her, maybe Jack will wait for a bit then after Donald does something stupid, he will act.
Honestly, given the unforced errors he generates continually, and his deep need to be his worst self in front of others whenever possible, leaving him loose (for the moment) will probably do more to peel away his remaining support than could be accomplished by him spending any *present* time in captivity.

Case in point: after stalking out of the courtroom, he made an ‘appearance’ at a cafe of some sort…where he called a reporter a “miserable bitch”. The angrier he gets, the less restraint he’s capable of, the less able his handlers will be to “manage” him, and the more his ‘targeting system’ will go awry….

This is sure to bring public fireworks, hopefully the kind he likes the least: currently, he’s doing a one-pony show, “Whiney Bear Goes Walkies”, that even his most faithful cash-depositors will take offense at before it’s done.

Go for it, just *don’t lose track of him*

Crazy idea:

what if tRump made a deal with desantis for a pardon and then agreed to be his VP. Not that I am in favor of any presidential R ticket but I think that would win and insure he doesn’t see a jail cell. The problem is he is such a grandiose narcissist I am not sure he is capable of it. These charges are serious.
They could win the GOOP nomination…but not the general election; more volume/spittle doesn’t translate into more votes dependably, and a CumDump/Satan ticket might be their biggest *INTERNAL* draw, but it has no appeal to the other 60-75%. GOOP strength Election Day has lost ~30% since ‘00, could easily lose another 20% over the next 17+ months.
