As title really...There was a thread posted a lot of months back with a technique of cloning hard to clone plants by starting the roots in rockwool wrapped round the slightly scraped branch while it was still on the mother plant.

Anyone find it, have searched the terms clone and cloning and have come up with nothing.

Cheers :hump:

Forming roots on a clone that is still part of the mother plant is called Layering. The idea is that any part of the plant can grow roots if that part is subjected to moist conditions similar to those the roots grow in. You can take a growing stem and slowly train it to bend downward until it touches the soil. Once a part of the stem is in moist soil, it can start growing roots. Rooting hormone can help facilitate this action. After it has grown roots, the clone is cut from the mother and the cloning process is complete. This same effect can be be accomplished by bringing a moist medium to the stem, rather than bending the stem to the medium.
