Hi guys....I'm trying to get some purple out of my Blackberry strain. My temperature in my basement was just measured at 51 degrees and gets down to 48 degrees at night. What is the ideal temp. for what I am trying to do? Thanks for all your help.

That usually is the ideal temp. I wouldn't go under 40. I'd keep em chilled for 48 hours in the dark right before you pull em. That should bring out some purple. Though some purple strains have non purple pheno's so they aren't always guaranteed purple. Still should taste like purple so no worries there.

I've heard some people say they just put the buds in the fridge after harvest and that gets the job done pretty well.

Okay so 40 degrees should be the lowest temp. That should not be a problem. Maybe I will try to put them in the fridge too. I am harvesting a crop in a couple of days. Have you guys tried this?

No I haven't tried it personally. Might soon though I got a Querkle going. There are nutes to get purple buds. Like humboldt's Purple Max and that Phosphoload stuff. But for you I think its too late if your harvesting soon. I think your supposed to start day 16 of flower or something. Cold temps should work though. It can even turn non purple buds purple.

YOU CAN MAKE ANY PLANT PURPLE. yes dropping temps is true. BE WEARY THO. if you do it JUST TO GET PURP BUD. IT MAY HURT THE PLANT AND REDUCE YIELD AND POTENCY. True Purp strains grow purp and ppl lower temps to put it OVER THE TOP. some ppl just lower temps to make it purp and lose potency

the purp in the strain will come out in the later weeks like the last one, at least thats how my purple kush does. if you can keep your low temp at night in
the 40s to 50 you should see purple.

well I myself dont allow it to get lower than 60, but Ive seen friends do it and they do it in the last few days to not stunt the plant. not sure if being in the 40s
will stunt it much, have read your good into the high 30s any lower and slows the plant but thats just what Ive read.

as for veg I wouldnt let it get that cold at all, I would assume your plant would shut down and not grow at all

blackberry should turn purple on its own, thats why its called blackberry.
Yeah the pic from Nirvana has them all purple and good looking, but my first harvest did not turn purple what-so-ever. The bud was fantastic though.

I wouldn't be dropping my temps in the 40's. It will shut it down. I grow purple kush and drop nite temps to no lower than 58 and they all start to purple up. I wouldn't sacrifice yield for some purple color. I'd keep it above 55. Outdoors you can get away with low temps. Inside not so much. Good luck!
