Trying to save on Nutes

Just use MaxiBloom for the whole run???
Yes! That’s basically a dry version of the LUCAS formula. And say for example you were to add Botanicare’s calmag plus you be adding plenty of extra nitrogen. Also floralicious plus seems popular w the GH flora series folks. I used it w liquid koolbloom w great results.
Back in the early 90’s I was using europonic nutes. They had an A&B fir grow and bloom. And one day ran out of grow and started using just the A&B bloom in veg. Well guess what? Never bought the veg again lol.

Thanks. I may still get the grow, but we'll see. Part of my motivation is to get rid of the 2 dozen gallon bottles cluttering up my shelf. I often preach less is more, but I don't necessarily always practice it - LOL.

Yup.
I've been using just MaxiBloom for many years.

Just use the maxi. It works great. I have been using just maxi and a touch of epsom salt during flower to give a bit more mag. Have tried a few different nutrients and always come back to it.

Hey guys, I've been using GH's FloraSeries trio forever. No complaints and I really like it because I know what to do with it, when to do it, etc. But I'm looking to reduce costs and maybe just go with some salts; no reason to pay extra for pre dissolved salts. Plus salt is easy to clean up and salvage when spilt, doesn't stain the floor, etc.

Obviously the GH FloraPro and MaxiPro lines jump out at me. Especially FloraPro, but I haven't priced it yet and it looks like only comes in 25lb bags.

I see MaxiCrop and Jacks get mentioned alot - any others I should consider?

Can I just get raw "no-name" salts and try to replicate the NPK ratios from the FloraSeries line up? Are there any recipes for using no-name salts? Where do the mirco nutrients come from if use NPK salts instead of a nutrient line?

I grow in Sunshine #4 Peat (not the advanced Coco) in plastic pots if that matters. Hand watered daily.

TIA.

I've used jacks for almost 30 yrs and had no problems

They have tweaked their formulas recently for cannibus. Ive ordered a bunch of their stuff in the last week to try. I only buy the 25lb bags.

I've used many many other nutes like the 3 part series u mentioned, Dutch passion, canna, and many others. Never once did I see an improvement.

I've used dry ferts from grow more, ultra sol, jacks, master blend, raw, etc all grew nice bud even the miracle grow in dirt grows outside.

I've got about a 1000 lb of ferts I'm sitting on now.

Just remember urea based nutes is for soil

Here is some pics of prices from the Amish store. Gotten a lot of stuff from their over the years. And far FAR cheaper than buying nutes in a bottle lol.

I hear ya. I make my own food from salts and have a proven recipe if you’re still interested.

You can't grow cannabis without a dozen bottles of Big Bamboozle Superbud Accelerator. Cannabis is a super special plant that requires super special cannabis specific formulations using super secret proprietary fertilizers. It won't grow with anything else. Cannabis has nutrient needs that every other plant that exists do not. If you don't use shiny bottles with cool sounding names on them your plants will shrivel up and die.

people will tell you megacrop has too much n for flower. my solution was a cheap strainer and I filter out the white calnit balls and stash those away. I do this to only a portion of my bag I save the rest for veg . works great in hempy, no clue about DWC, it burns my soil plants
I run Megacrop 1 part and now 2-part in DWC. 2 part is a copy of Jack's 321. I think the problem with to much N comes from overfeeding.

I don't have any N tox issues and I run pretty high amount of calcium nitrate in the feed from start to finish.

I run 2.2g part A 5-12-26
1.8g Calcium nitrate 15.5-0-0
0.8g Epsom salt per gallon

If you live in the states Jack's is a better choice than MegaCrop IMO. The slightly higher price make up for the fact that Jack's is cleaner than MegaCrop. I always get some precipitates with the part A no matter how it's mixed with MegaCrop.

I've read same anecdotes from other users as well with the same problem. Doesn't affect plant growth though. I suck out the bottom part with precipitates and use it for my mom's. Cheers!

So I should go out and buy some Advanced Nutrients and/or House and Garden.
