Turning a male hermie?

If there’s a way to get a female cannabis to produce pollen sacs is there a way to get male plants to produce flowers? It can’t be just the one way can it? If so anyone know why? Reason I ask is a lot of people use reg seeds just to spend all of veg feeding only to find out the plants no good cause it’s male but if you get a hermie though you’ll get buds and can just pick the sacs off as they grow and veg wouldn’t be as big of a waste of time and effort.

Full female cannabis plants have the DNA to make the pollen producing parts of male flowers, stamens and anthers, commonly referred to as bananas/nanners. As far as I know or have heard, male plants don't have the DNA to make pistils or calyxes (not sure if that's the correct plural, any linguists reading this?). From an evolutionary standpoint the female plant has the mechanism to detect whether or not pollination has occurred, while the male can't. So how would a male evolve to pollinate itself? It's an interesting question, and I wonder if the sativa strains from Thailand that have a high percentage of true hermaphrodites (or so I'm told) have the answer. Which kind of plant is older in general? Hermaphrodites like peppers and tomatoes, or diecious plants like cannabis?
