you are 100% correct, it's original name was stacker I think, then after all the feedback they got, they changed the name to purple maxx. this product was created for resin production not to change plants colors, that was just a bonus 1/3 of growers reported
exactly. since the original purple maxx, they have released something called "purple maxx snow storm ultra" which was released about 6months ago. they found out that purple maxx was actually two products in one so they seperated them. as far as the name stacker, im not sure about that, but it definately was a different name

why the hell people keep saying buy purple strain. WE freaking KNOW...we want to make 100% PURPLE
Not 20% 50% purple ......FROM a Purple Strain

You grow purple, you don't make it!
Cheapest way to make it
Go to paint store, buy purple paint,
Paint the buds.

as stated, it's a genetic thing... usually the last 1-2 weeks true purple strains will turn purple on their own... if you cut them early they will still be green.... certain strains like cherrie pie (also purple) are also know to throw seeds in the last week of flowering if at all stressed, so if you go too long on those and try to get them cold (shock) it may be a bad thing... I've seen several purple strains throw seeds from going too long... usually you'll have many seeds at the bottom of the plant, but almost none at the top...

What is up with people and purple weed?

Don't get me wrong, I love to look at purple flowers, they are gorgeous. But so are green flowers.

I'm guessing the next sensation is going to be "How to get PINK weed", once people realize pink/magenta is another color variance found in the cannabis plant...

purple maxx is not supposed to turn a plant purple. they just say on the label that some of their growers had stated that the plants used with purple maxx had turned more purple than others. but this is not the reason i use it. i use it because ive had very nice trichome production since i first started using it.
I believe trichome production is soley dependant on the genetics, and if you provide appropriate nutrients and grow a healthy plant those genetics will grow to fruition. To say that theres a majical nutrient that increase trichomes, well that doesnt make logical sense, and me thinks I smell some bullshit there. Sounds like your being sold on the bullshit that is cannibis nutrient marketing, and you fell for it

i grew blue cheese also, i think it did get a really light purple/blue hue over all the leaves, but the buds were like a bluish hue bud with lots of white trichomes. purple maxx would work on any strain =/ "purple maxx snow storm ultra" its actually pretty cheap $28/liter
cheap??

ONLY CANNABIS WITH DNA PERMITTING PURPLE PIGMENTATION WILL TURN PURPLE - NO MATTER WHAT. Yes, colder temps and ideal conditions will help these particular strains turn purple.

Get some of this: Canacopia BC Roadkill X Deep Chunk

But as others have stated, if it is the genetic makeup of the plant, then cooler temperatures definitely help towards the end of flowering to bring out the color.

I managed to get my Kali Mist purple and K.O purple due to low temps and more of a potassium deficiency due to being root bound and having no buffer left in the soil, was getting 7.2 PH run off in Coco lol. You're welcome.
