These two plants came from the same seed, one grows normally and the other one has a weird asymmetrical defect. Is this usual?

Throw it to the bin if you have another one. Probably wont open well by the looks of it.

Some plants start off weird and then grow out fine. Up to you if you wanna keep it. That’s a $100 seed pack, to me it’s worth trying to save.

It often happens that when you get twins one will be a little....different. May as well grow them both out the one that is not growing normally may grow out of it just fine, or maybe not. Either way it doesn't hurt to give it some time to find out. Some of the best pot comes from plants that grow weird.

You should have a better idea after a couple of weeks of growth.
