Two caterpillars one bud

Noticed a little abnormal brown spot on one of my buds, it was an outdoor plant that had recently been brought into the greenhouse! I grabbed a lens for a closer look, as i poked the area with a thin twig it fell away, I was concerned about rot so removed the bud and had a closer look, as i parted 2 flower points i found the first culprit! (A pesky little caterpillar) got rid of the little fellow on my lemon tree and preceded to clean through the bud only to find another!! Lots of poo through the bud so a lot wasted! Hence two caterpillars one bud! Anyone faced this problem before??

On a couple of outdoor plants. They have a short time to eat up and cocoon it. Sprinkle diatomaceous earth all around the plants and that keeps the crawlers at bay. Doesn’t do anything if the moth or butterfly laid eggs on your plants. More likely they crawled on.
