So, i just purchased a 1000w HPS lamp with coolsun reflector. Just recently upgraded from cfls.

So here is the scenario. I have my light up top of my cab [4.5'wx4.5'dx8'h].

i have a fan mounted flush on the outside wall of my box, where i have ducting running to one end of my light, then i have ducting running from the other side of the cooltube running out the back of my box. [Not sure of CFM but it is considerably stronger then my 250cfm inline fans.]

i have a 6'' inline fan mounted on the top of the box for an exhaust with ducting running down to main grow chamber. i had a passive intake but my temps were rediculus so i just put in another 6'' inline fan on the intake of my cab. [Both intake and exhaust are 250cfm]

the ambient temp of the garage itself is roughly 23C. the cab is sitting roughly at 28-30C. is this going to be too hot for my ladys or, should i be fine.

Would love to hear some feedback kinda in a rush to get the ladys back in the box.

temps are really borderline. options, as you probably know, include a cheap portable ac, stronger fans, or adding co2. since your fans are only exchanging the air once per minute, you can probably get enough temp improvement just by using better fans.

you have one fan drawing air from outside the room through the cooltube and out the room again yea? do you have another extractor venting the growspace? you need another fan to remove the warm air from the room and keep fresh co2 rich air being drawn into the room, that 1000 is still going to put out heat through the cooltube, OR you could run it like me and have one fan doing both jobs. 600w, average room temps at the moment 25-26*c

there is no fan venting the roomspace, didnt you notice? the only extractor fan being used is pulling through the cooltube and duct system and not extracting any air from the room! its literally sucking air from outside the room and venting it back out the room again via the cooltube!

If things are too warm, consider purchasing a portable Air Conditioning unit.

there is absolutely no need for an air conditioner in this case, the temps outside the growroom are only 23*c, when d3k sorts out some extraction for the growspace and enlarges them passives, the temps will drop i guarantee it.
only if my temps outside the room were pushing 30 would i consider paying out for an air conditioner.

good eyes, i think. i thought d3k had a passive intake and exhaust separate from the ducting line to the light. still might. d3k???

I have one fan pushing air from outside the box lower to the ground for better temps. (you can see in second pic of first post, under ducting)

Pic i just added is one with my exhaust. you can just see the ducting hanging down its taped air tight to the roof where a 250cfm inline fan is attached and sealed on air tight.

Better fans you say? i know the fan i have on my light is sufficiant. it blows hurricanes compared to those inlines.

checked temp last night, 22C ambiant in garage, 27.7C in cab.

I dont really have the cash at the moment to get any sort of good fans for the intake or exhaust. the plants in there right now have been all grown strait from seed with cfls. thats why their buds arent anywhere near good. i have 5 clones cut and rooted waiting to get in the cab in about another week under my t5 setup.

would adding another fairly cheap 250cfm inline for exhaust and or intake do the trick?

I do plan on getting some sort of vortex fan in the next coming months but their pricey 'round these parts.

And thanks for the welcome, Ive been creeping for awhile.. love to peep other's skunk.

Cheers all.

least amount of curves in your ducting the better. if you can vent your cool tube straight across your cab it allows air to move easier and more quietly.
