Shame, now 10 years on and still nothing, urghh, hopefully they will realise the benefits of legalisation soon. Imagine growing just one plant a year and never having to go to the dealer again

It is so nice to be able to grow my own without the need to hide it. Oregon has been legal for four years now. Simply crazy, that some think it should be illegal.

Thats great to hear, how many can you grow and is it for recreational? Ive always wondered about this and if they would legalise it here but keep growing in your home illegal

In Oregon, we can grow 4 plants for personal use recreational or med. My use is recreational.

We legalized in 2014 and it took another year before personal grows were legal. Ever since, I've not set foot in a dispensary. I grew four plants (9 starts, chopped to four females) and was astounded at how much it produced. Seven pounds. Sunk cost was about 30 bucks, including the seed. I'm a lightweight. One hit and I'm done. I figured my crop was enough to cover my own needs for 60 years. Plenty was given away, most of it, in fact. Happy friends.

Oregon wrote its laws to make the black market unprofitable. It's working too.

How did it make the black market unprofitable. Is it cuz of being allowed to grow at home do u think?

Home growing is part of it. Also: They set taxes on weed from dispensaries low. They set the number of licenses for growing high. They allowed anybody to grow their own without any paperwork or licensing fees whatsoever. Medical is tax free.

For example,

Oregon's sales tax rate is 17%. Just across the border to the north, it's 37%.

It's not a great thing but Oregon's black market is an exporter's market. (so I've heard, I'm not in any of that kind of thing)

The black market isn't that lucrative when a pound of weed wholesale sells for $900 (650 GBP). Also, the recreational market is picky when it comes to quality. Most retail buyers don't want outdoor grown weed. I'm happy with my outdoor grow and people like it a lot but it probably would be treated as bottom shelf stuff at a dispensary.
