Hi guys,

Many of you may have read my other post on this page that included pics of my female plant that I just harvested. I wanted to update you guys on my experiences with CFL's thus far. This is an unbiased account of what I've experienced.

This was my first grow with CFL's. I vegged 2 plants under about 25,000 lumens of light or approx (12) CFL's. (26 watters mixed with 42 watters).
I vegged both plants for 22 days and they were really bushy and healthy. I never had any heat issues and I barely noticed the jump on my electric bill at all.

I would have liked to have vegged both plants for 40-50 days but I got word on a new job and knew I may be moving so I sent them into flower on day 23. Only one plant turned out to be a female and she's the one pictured in my other post.

Anyway .... onto my unbiased opinion of my harvested CFL bud.
This plant yielded 21 grams of bud, dried. While it held true that the CFL buds are 'fluffier' or more 'popcorn' like, they still smoke the same. The smell is super skunky and it is super sticky. This is from some really good bag seed. The high is EXCELLENT even though I harvested her 10 days earlier than I really wanted to due to having to move! I can honestly say that the bud that I have just harvested is as good as any that I've had, and I've had some really good stuff.

I may try an HPS for flowering on my next grow so that I can compare the two but I can tell all of you guys that are just starting out and using CFL's that you can WITHOUT A DOUBT grow some MORE than adequate kill with your lights!!

Best of luck!!
