Hi! Recommend Mel Frank's MJ Growers Insiders Guide

Good luck,
UB

OK great, I will find it and read it, I have a mj grow bible, but it is not that great, so hopefully this will be more what im looking for.

Can I ask what your thoughts on playing music to plants are, after reading about the studies done by dorothy retelleck I have been playing 3 hrs a day of relaxing music to my plant, and while this could be coincidental, the plant has definatley exploded with new growth since starting.

Hi there Uncle Ben. Hope all is well. I have a question for you: Id like to know what is your best method for drying/curing in the shortest possible time. I know I should take my time but with the upcoming harvest I really cant spend all that time due to financial needs. I have looked into the dry ice method and have a readily available supply of as much as I want at a very reasonable price.

Anyway any advice/tips would be welcome.

After the harvest ill be posting up the grow journal. I never post an active grows pics on any of the forums Im on. Old school superstitions. I hope you come and check it out when its up!! Youve been a huge help to the grow in general. Remember the crazy plant you thought I should kill and save space? Well she ended up sprouting 2 mega colas and though she is short, she will probably net almost an oz dry.

Fast drying? Guess you could use a fan if you have low ambient RH or break up the bud and put it in the fridge.

Glad things worked out for you!

use an oven. I fast dry with a lamp within 30min-1hour but not for a huge harvest just for a couple buds. just bake the weed at like 120 until it's dry, as long as it doesn't go over 155degrees

That'll work, and also work at destroying THC. How much is anybody's guess.

Hey UB, I was thinking about that radiation spill in Japan. Do you think AN can come up with an iodine additive in time for this season's outdoor Cannabis? How long do you think it will take for that to be a new worry from somebody?:leaf:
Hope the Avocado Trees are gonna work out.

According to a friend who just returned from Japan, the pot there has a nice glow to it. :)

Maybe the Japanese will give the big middle finger to the US and plant hemp everywhere to clean up the radiation, lol.

Greetings Uncle Ben! Just wanted to say a thanks, your threads and all the amazing contributors have opened my eyes and probably saved me a mint from Evangelical Nutrients... Ooops i meant EN oops i meant AN. Lol it was actually "hydrofuel" I got conned into.
I was a lemming, blindly following a commercial farmers advice, he provided my cuttings and has grown commercial using that AN crap for around 4 years. I wrongly considered him an industry professional.
What did Vader say in Empire? "All too easy!"
Charts sounded a little suspect as we had a garden when i was growing up and there werent any charts..
Anyhow, they got $150 or something outta me, and that stuff isnt gettin used now. I won't even resell it because I think it's a rip.
I guess when the farmer who gave me the recommendation of these Lemon-juice (yellow leaf supporting fluids) I just wanted to believe it was that "easy" well, true gardening is far "easier" than that bs so I guess moral of the story is as always...don't learn to grow pot first, just learn to grow.
You sir, have saved me alot of dummy money, likely saved what yield I get off of this go, and saved me from wasting my time reading through numerous misguided threads. And quite possibly the reason the beans I have been trying to get 7 years now will have the best chance to grow.
Eyes open. Brain receptive. Common sense engaged. Check. Can't thank you enough. I'm sure I'll have a question for you at some point but all questions asked have covered all my bases so far. Hopefully a master gardeners course before years end. Wish I could return the favor, but that would be damn near impossible. Lol

On a side note, I found locally this week and am happy to spend the mere $15 it is out here in Canada. I also picked up some of this http://www.ecofertinc.com , values look good to a noob like me anyhow, and they supply university of British Columbia (reason i say is their garden looks pretty good, ate some fruit off of the farm there lol). Thanks again!

Hi Uncle Ben. Ive got a small emergency on my hands and I hope you see this in time to give some good advice. I fed my HPS girls yesterday with 5-10-5 + 0-5-6 + a small amino acid called PentaGarden. When I woke up this morning I see the yellowing you see in these pictures. Im about 10 days from harvest and I am wondering if you think I should flush or let it be. I really dont want to fuck it up now that I am so close to the end. Pics attached for you reference and Ill be watching to answer any clarifying questions you might have.

I'm not Uncle Ben, but I play him on TV, so here goes;
It looks to me that you have a fair bit more than ten days to go, at least if you want your plants to finish that is. I'd say 14-18 days from the looks of things. I'd give them a dose of nitrate nitrogen, along with a good flush because it looks like you have a few other nutrient issues going on there. The purple stems could be phosphorus, but I can't say whether it's locked out or you just need more...

Wolverine, yeah I know I am harvesting a bit early but personal finances are becoming urgent and I have 15 clones waiting to get into the flower room which I can take my time with. You cant see it from the pics but the trichs are about 20% cloudy and I did a quick dry yesterday (dankmasters method) and got high as all fuck; so our clients will be satisfied with the product (which means I can pay the bills). Trust me I would love to let them go a full 65-70 days, but with this first harvest I cant wait.

So with that in mind...am I better off flushing now or waiting a few days?

Besides the purple stems (which I never knew was a P issue) what other nutrient issues do you think I have?

Plant wants N, purple stems indicate the leaf is a sink, has nothing to do with P
