nice setup brooo i just set my undercurrent up with 14 plants and 1800 watts.
question, you get any brown sludge on the res/bucket walls?
it also seems like the roots are getting brownish and have a layer of this stuff on them
hope my shit takes off like that

that is algie or brown slime. that shit will eventually kill your plants if left untreated. beneficial bacterias such as Orca, great white and a few of its competitors will get rid of it and should be used regularly if you have higher than normal res temps or light getting to your water somehow or if that shit simply just wont stay gone. reservoirs need lids also. the slime you speak of leads to root rot and a few other nasty ailments. h2o2 or hydrogen peroxide should be avoided becuz the algae feeds off of the oxygenated water and helps it multiply simply becuz you cant put enough h2o2 in your system to kill it becuz it would also kill your plants. when it multiplies it leads to black slime which is even harder to get rid of becuz the black slime feeds off the algae and the algae feeds off the h2o2 water. the black slime is where the root rot sets in. normally up top where the roots meet the stem. had a run in with it in a 4 bucket setup. but it was too late for me to deal with. also water chillers help keep that shit away.

Its not very hard at all. Just leave yourself a good 12-16 '' inches between the systems & Walls the bigger amount of space you can leave the easier it is. Then you manage.
Just slide down and work on whatever u gotta work on. Tending to the plants early to get them to grow the way you want them to helps a lot too.Chronicknowledge42o

Thanks man ! that system looks great good to see more people building their own. No brown sludge for me, Sounds like your res is getting too hot. How often do you top off with fresh water & what nutes do you use ?

pount town. Your ass better listen and get that EWC going. the slime will FUCKING CRIPPLE YOU!! It also laughs at zone, h2o2 and more oxygen.
Use the tea. Wrapping your buckets with the white side of panda film couldn't hurt either. Black is jsut about the worst color for buckets (next to clear that is) .

my water stays at like 55 degrees. im using botanicare cns17 and some aquashield now. i think the brown is mostly due to the superthrive i put in. that shit is super concentrated and i think i put a little too much in. it hasnt gotten too much worse but i'm about to put some myco in just to be sure. still waiting for roots to enter the water. always hate this part seems like it takes forever

I always pour my myco in the net pots when they haven't hit the water yet. I also run flower nutes and a ph of 5.5 for that period that they are just starting to get their roots going. Nitrogen is the last thing they need.

The critical kush is insane id recommend it, huge resin production absolutely nuts glad you found the thread man

Critical kush is among one of the best yielding ive grown for sure, The smoke quality is also top notch unlike a lot of big yielders. Id recommend trying it man grows good takes the nutes well the resin production is nuts & the nugs are rock hard. I am gonna be borrowing a high quality camera for bud photos hopefully before cropping. The stuff looks insane ! Vanilla kush is nuts too for yield / look & smoke. Both highly recommended.
The vanilla is purpling up & coming down on sunday, I will keep you guys posted !

It came out GREAT man, Just did another crop & had a big harvest of blue OG & MK ultra, The under current rocks ! Im back to making video & doing grow logs now after time off due to just being too busy, But here I am again so ask away if you have any questions

my biggest question.. as my UC setu is currently gathering dust in the garage.. how do you manage to fight root rot problems? Sorry if you already answered this.

Never had those issues, Not once. I really wish I could help but honestly ive never experienced any root rot. My roots are always white as can be come harvest time. Maybe it has something to do with the nutrients I am using ? The temperature in my grow room ? I dont know but I wish I could offer more help man, Make sure to stay tuned for the next crop journal will be started in a couple days.
