Underground drying

I would love to see this "cannabis coffin" in action. Surely there must be some way to do it right. I hope things work out and you get the kind of results you want from this. Maybe you'll unearth some secrets.
Thats why I posted it, if yall got any good ideas. Ill lyk if this shit ends up working out or turns into a cannabis coffin

The only way this would work is with a cheap 12v solar panel powering a small USB powered fan to constantly ventilate it. You also need to seal the box from the outside so the high humidity doesnt seep through the wood. Id suggest rubberized undercoating then wrapped in visqueen on the outside of the box. This is a grand idea for good temperature stability.
Thanks for the actual advise!

Im about half a mile from the coast in socal where the soil is super dry and it almost never rains
Whats your elevation vs seal level? Add 10-20ft to sea level being that close to shore. I know nothing about cali. Im a "confederate" to say the least. Never been west of the Mississippi or north of the mason Dixon. Not exactly by choice though.

Wait I hope "confederate" aint offensive...

Im in the process of digging a hole thats 7 feet tall, to fit a wooden box into to dry my plants. Its going to be standard wood with nothing sprayed or coated on it because I dont want any chemicals on my plants. I will have it completely sealed off and light proof, Ill have it simply ventilated but the outside temp is not going to be any extreme. Will drying it underground have any negative affects on the final results or will it be okay? This is my first time doing it underground so if anyone got any ideas or advice it would be very helpful.
But why are you even thinking about doing this??

You still haven't stated why you want to dry it this way. Many better options. Why go thru all the trouble? Must be a driving force. Soooooooo...are you trying to hide it?

I needed a place to dry my grow after its done so I decided to dig a hole by hand and im about to start building the inside frame. If I could have thought of a better solution I wouldn't have gone through all this work, but its the best I can think of for my situation.

For y'all just to get a better picture of my situation, Im growing outside and I need to do the whole grow process very discreetly. I cant bring it inside my house to dry and I cant build a structure that stands up, so I just thought to go underground and try to dry and cure it there. idk if this will be a massive fail but its the only way I can do it, so imma give it a try. Ive already put in around 10 hours of work digging the hole and im about to build the inside room. I am aware that I will face challenges with drying underground but theres always a solution!

In my country i herd people put branches in tree canopy. Nobody can see from distance that something is hanging inside. And you still have air movement inside so no mold. I didnt do it personally nor i smoked that kind of dried buds just sayin.

This is fuckin hilarious. You're trying to hide weed from what I can only guess is your parents and you're gonna do it in a hole in the ground. Cant wait to see your face when you realize all the work growin the plant and waiting for harvest is wasted. You might as well go buy some brick weed.

If I can create proper ventilation and air movement inside I dont get why people are saying I will get mold. Im using redwood which is known to be the best option for underground and im going to wrap the structure with a big plastic tarp. The soil is super dry and it almost never rains here.
