Upgrading LED Lights

Anyone notice my bridgelux clones have that spinly outward look like a foxtail except its not because it stops. Same clones under samsung have a more receeded but structure. Hard to explain, just a more normal bud structure. Same under the samsungs but different brand light. Why might that be? Two runs in a row and three runs with the viparspec samsung. More than three if to count the mars ts1000’s.

Dude! I'm totally on board with this. I just had a spider farmer with those diodes and all my growth stopped, shot got weird. Sent it back for the Migro Veg light (all samsung) boom back in action! They say all of today's fixtures are the same? Nahhhh I don't think so! Glad you pointed this out.
Yea I saw that on your journal was like what a coincidence lol. Basically ran into the same issues as me almost. I like that the migro is a bar so I could put a box fan over a couple of those I think.

For me I just need the anolog dimmer style and aerodynamic so I can dim it. But yea some lights like the ts1000 never gave issues while the vipar needs to be used carefully even tho the ppfd isnt that high. Just well spread 900 ppfd at 12” which I had much higher up and it burned it quick.

I think the manufactures make their lights at different intensities at different percentages set. That would be obvious just thinking about how each light is a bit different. I think when @Rocket Soul said theyre all similar they said the spectrum is but maybe they didnt mean literally. That they each still can perform a little differently.

Box fans would totally work. Imma have the newest Array 4 soon, maybe not this next flower cycle but definitely for my next.

Thats alot of light at 12inches.

Id love to try someones diy light I just do the bars only but would like to see what a tweaked spectrum would do. Since I know my clones so well. Getting to know the bridgelux its the newest to me.

Can you tell which was the bridgelux? Its most of them. That spiked nug look is the bridgelux I never seen before.

The 9680 photo looks more rounded while the others loom spiked/foxtail. Am I right?

Custom spectrums is going to be the next big thing. I just watched a new light review by Shane Migro and it's tunable. Dimlux Mk, looks dope.

Which lights/diodes are we talking about? Sorry missed the background. But in general most of the modern grow spectrums are incredibly similar; something around 4000k whites (sometimes a mix of 3000 and 5000k giving the same 4000k white mix) plus a little 660 red. Its like a sort of recipe of getting best photon efficiency at fairly low cost since you dont have to use too much red which tends to be the more expensive diodes.

Imo its a decent way to get good apunts of fairly samey and boring weed - nice and dense packing a lot of weight, far down in the cannopy but generally somewhat nothing saying in the smell department and buds looking a bit smaller than hps.

ooo so the google AI is telling me removing carpet could reduce rh by several percent. Even if carpet doesnt get wet it can raise rh. Oo I want to remove it anyway but see if this actually would help. That sounds like an awesome upgrade and the bud will be cleaner too. My carpet is disfreakingusting.
hope ur floor isn’t wood, if yes to wood floors I would use mold primer than use panda film

Osram (if I spelled it right lol)

I had picked up a spider farmer with those diodes white and red and my plants didn't respond well. Switched over to Migro Array 1 veg, all samsung and boom! Everything is on track. Strange.
The veg seedling kit comes with 95cri white spectrum; it comes with a bunch of extra reds baked into the white diodes; without such pronounced 660 peak as mono supplemented, instead peaking around 625-630nm.

I can say from my experience, my mother plants did not like it at all. Very strange. I was shocked based on the qualities you just described.

Just that these bridgelux diodes Im using for the second time tends to give these foxtail looking buds but not actual foxtail. Just calyxes spindling outward. Any reason as to why or is it just coincidence?

As for the osams we were wondering if it can have too much red or IR and upset the vegging plants. Or like my viparks3000 it will burn if you turn it up too fast all the way. I only use 75% of it.

Just got the electric bill, $300 for my grow. Might keep going up too its one of those things need time to catch up. Thankfully I have a deal I do housework for 100 a month. It helps. Im lazy as hell idk how Ive been keeping up with the chores. No wonder no one wants to do them!

Its about what I was paying at the store but the plan is to shut down for a year and use the chores to make the bud free. Its only this high because Im yuelding more than I can consume to accumilate to finish the plan.

If I had my own place I wouldnt have that but Id enjoy my own place lol. Unless I always have roommates.

Under the viparspectra ks3000 75%. See what I mean by a certain look? A more rosebud flower structure vs the mars fce1500. This my 3rd run under this light.

Interesting. The vipar has another white base, around 3500k and much less 660 added, like mininal. While mars fce is ypur pretty much standard 4000k + 660 in fairly generous amounts. You prefer how the vipar grows?

I dont mind either of them I just wondered if Im beginning to notice things. Maybe one of these days a start to the diy path will happen, maybe through something like this.

Just that the vipar and other samsung lights make normal rosebud looking flowers but the bridgelux had the fox tail looking buds. I think they look great and maybe one of these days Il figure out how to get different flavors and hash yield.

Its not the brand, its the spectrum recipe.
Though bridgelux seems to have had, at least in the past, somewhat more red in their spectrum mix. My guess is that the extra foxtailing is from excessive 660 reds
Osrams+Red
The more i see and hear 660 isnt ideal for supplement, at least not on its own.
