Sorry Chewy for the news about the thrips. They really suck big time. Recommend you cover the tops of the containers with DE even though it makes watering more difficult. You will battle these at least 2-3 weeks almost every 4 days as new ones hatch. Kill them now or the battle will rage way longer and you might want to destroy them and start again. The damage they do sucks. leaves end up looking translucent and they die. If you are far from flower would use a heavy duty product like azatrol. I waited 10 days before I could treat and 10,000 came back to say hello.

Have to keep the amazon option open as a second source for the DE. Depot has it in yellow bags but they might only be 4 lb er's for $8.00.Also keep an eye out on Amazon for DE, it was on sale the other day for $14.99 a 10lb bag, free prime shipping too!
Keep up the good fight, like Pepe said, every 4 days or so new ones will hatch and the cycle starts all over again. Did you make a home made Duster yet to get the deadly 'mist' in every nook and cranny?

As you know the adults are small. The stage before that they are even smaller and very difficult to see. I have a white color floor so they are easier to see but I still go in and just watch the floor until I see them move. Also use vinegar, water and soap to attrack them to a small dish with half inch of liquid mixture. Dish is shallow low wall so they can jump right in. That will catch them and attract them at the same time. Placing the yellow sticky cards around the bottom of the pot near drain holes has yielded good results catching them also. Both good ways to check for bugs. Dont spill the liquid in the soil cause it will kill the plant. I just put the dish on floor under leaves. Make sure you watch for them for 2-3 weeks because they hid everywhere. Cracks in floor between tiles, under water saucers, everywhere.
