Urgent help!

Hi all,
As impatient as I am, my third seedling has not sprouted yet (auto) so i decided to uncover a little soil, very little, i saw a white tap root like string, touched it and a small part of it broke..there were 2 of these, right above where i potted the seed...is this the beginning of the sprouting stem, and have I killed my to be plant? I would like to know so that i can have enough time to plant another...this may be very stupid but please try and help

yeah you most likely killed it man, just cover it up n wait. if nothin happens now you know why.. and yes that was the main stemm
