Even if they now disagree with you?

Show me irrefutable evidence of a thing you are attemting to convince me of and you will find that even though I now disagree with you I will be force to agree. Strange how logic and evidence works that way with folks who put truth before ideology.

Thing is that I see a valid place for opinion and I can't see discussions made solely of bonafied evidence. Sometimes we read something or remember something that just isn't worth searching for. Sometimes we have to state what we know and have that knowlege accepted as it is - that is, unless it is challenged.

That is the way it is supposed to work. I have often seen someone claim a thing is true, they so believe that thing is true that they hold it to be in the realm of "common knowlege" or "common sense". So much so that when I challenge them on that common knowlege they demand that I do the research and that they need prove nothing. Happens most often when I argue with someone on the right btw.

Show me irrefutable evidence that what you believe is the truth. Logic and evidence do not make make fact. You ask for irrefutable evidence and then mention logic. How much logic does it take to accept irrefutable evidence? We use logic, evidence and experience to form our own opinions about ideology. Ideology, like religion, is based on faith, not facts.
I don't need irrefutable evidence to tell me that theft and force are wrong.
I don't need irrefutable evidence to tell me that protecting the rights of the individual is the ONLY way to protect the rights of everybody.

LOL, I've seen the same from the left.
Oh and by the way, I'm not on the right. You really need to drop this one dimensional view, but you probably won't.

Yes, as a matter of fact, the winners are the ones who's minds have been changed as a result of discussions.
Anytime you gain knowledge that allows you to look at something in a different way you have won the argument.

I will show you such evidence when I can. No, logic and evidence do not insure fact, but they are the only things that can change a rational mind.

I agree, ideoloy may well be composed of faith at least in part. I try to base my ideology on fact and logic.

I can offer lots of reasonable arguments - arguments not based on faith, that theft does not work. I cannot say that it is "wrong".

I can also offer reasonable arguments that protecting the rights of the individual works for the rest, I need no faith to believe that.

Hmmmmmm, strange how some contradict themselves without even knowing it.
