Using Advanced Nutrients

Urea? I mix my own from Individual salts and don't use any and there is no urea in peters hydro or the others' too. I don't know what you use but all the ones you listed are mineral/synthetic based and not "naturally derived" or "organic". What do you use?

For the research here are some vids from Utah State University (they talk about nutrition somewhere at the end) and about their research lab.
i'll post some links to a few of the other ressources later, there are several papers from North Carolina University etc.

EDTA

EDTA is a molecule called a chelating agent. A chelating agent is a claw-like substance that can grab and stick to other molecules.
Some types of EDTA stick to calcium. Other types stick to metals, such as lead.
Why do people take EDTA?
EDTA is sometimes prescribed by doctors to clean toxic metals, such as lead, from the blood. Doctors have used the molecule for decades to treat heavy metal poisoning. In those cases it is given through an IV.
EDTA is also an ingredient in some prescription cancer-fighting medicines.

Supplement makers claim that over-the-counter forms of EDTA can be taken by mouth to "detox" the body and make your gastrointestinal tract healthier. There is no scientific evidence to support this.
Preliminary studies show that intravenous EDTA therapy under physician supervision may help patients who have had a heart attack, particularly if they have diabetes. However, more study is needed to prove this.
Some people take EDTA to try to treat:

However, evidence is lacking that EDTA works for those conditions. Recent studies say it is not helpful and may even be dangerous.
Optimal doses of EDTA supplements have not been set. Supplement ingredients and quality may vary widely. This makes it hard to set a standard dose.
Can you get EDTA naturally from foods?
EDTA is a chemical that is added to certain foods and beverages to help them keep their color and flavor. For instance, it is sometimes added to:

The FDA says EDTA is considered safe for use in foods in the U.S.

What are the risks of taking EDTA?
The most common side effect of EDTA is burning at the IV site.
Chelating agents can also have serious, even life-threatening side effects. One of the most serious side effects of EDTA is kidney damage and kidney failure.
Other side effects that have been reported in patients taking some forms of EDTA have included:

I just switched from AN ph perfect. I'm trying out megacrop. I only ever used the three main bottles of AN and some cal mag sometimes. It's ph perfect tech is far from perfect. In veg it works but in flower mode I have had dips below 4.0 that have almost killed my plants. You still need to read your ph. Here is a side by side of MC vs AN. The one with blue guy is megacrop.

Same age same, growth except the cost is way better with MC. As a bonus I find dry nutes way cleaner.
It's too bad Mega Crop isn't available in EU anymore. AN bottles are waaaaay cheaper than importing Mega Crop.

Sorry but that is just dumb. Nitrate N isn't the same as urea. YOU should better look that one up. And nitrate isn't chelated with EDTA. Only metals can be chelated with EDTA. You've got that more than wrong. What are you trying to tell me? I've got a Masters degree in chemistry and FOR SURE know what i'm talking about. Further almost ALL fertilizers use EDTA to chelate iron and the other metals except for calcium and magnesium and so do those you mentioned. You have absolutely NO idea what you are talking about that is just ridiculous and it seems you can not even read correctly.

Or maybe your brain is filled with heavy metals and you dont understand
I never said nitrate is urea
You said that. I said jacks is urea based.
That's a product you listed.
Whatever man. Im not smoking your weed. Use whatever you want.

Oh and just for your interest some of those you recommended:

For example Emerald harvest micro:

Derived from: calcium nitrate, ammonium nitrate, potassium nitrate, urea, cobalt nitrate, iron EDTA, sodium borate, sodium molybdate, copper EDTA, manganese EDTA, and zinc EDTA.

Or Cali Pro Bloom A:

Derived from: potassium nitrate, calcium nitrate, urea, cobalt nitrate, iron EDTA, sodium borate, sodium molybdate, copper EDTA, manganese EDTA and zinc EDTA.

Cyco Bloom A:

Derived from: Potassium Nitrate, Calcium Nitrate, Magnesium EDTA

And so on... besides of beeing nothing wrong with using EDTA or DTPA or the likes H.o.G. and Diablo don't even list their ingredients that is a no-go but you can be sure they use mostly the same salts as every other fertilizer manufacturer on the planet. Put a fancy label on, make wild claims, charge a fortune. They make money with people like you who don't know even the basics and fall for their marketing bollocks, thinking they buy something special and magic.

It's too bad Mega Crop isn't available in EU anymore. AN bottles are waaaaay cheaper than importing Mega Crop.
That's too bad. Here some simple math for everyone.

MC 9.9Kg = 9900grams is 120$ Canadian
AN 1L trio =1000ml is 110$

I will use 11litre as an example.

MC needs 12grams for a ppm of 500
AN needs 22ml for a ppm of 500
In 11litres

9900g ÷ 12g = 825 feeds for 120$
1000ml÷22ml = 45.5 feeds for 110

120$ ÷ 825 feeds = 0.14cents a feed
110$ ÷ 45.5feeds = 2.42$ a feed.

Even if a bag of MC cost you 1000$ it would still be half the cost of AN. It can't be that much to import into EU is it?

Jacks hydro isn't urea based. I said nitrate is urea? Show me where. It gets even more and more ridiculous. As i said you can not even read correctly. Bla bla bla keep on kidding.

Does anybody here use advanced nutrients and if so what's a good starter kit I heard Voodoo juice.. tarantula and piranha is a good pack to start out with
Sorry, late to the party !

On my last grow I used Advanced Nutrients PH perfect Micro/Grow/Bloom/B-52 and later on Sensizym/Big Bud.

1L @ of base nutrients ~ $60
250ml @ of the rest ~ $60

I figure I used about 1/4 of the nutrients for one plant, call it $30.

Also a bottle of ph down but barely touched it..

2 gallon pot of ProMix HP, 600w MH/HPS.

Early Miss auto, yield 369g.

I did burn the heck out of her towards the end by upping the nutrients to 50% of their recommended amounts !

Thankfully all that got trimmed off...

No complaints about Advanced Nutirents here !

Cheers.

Honestly, I'd rather just walk 10 minutes to the local grow shop, pay 28€ for the two bottles I need and be done with it. That way I don't have to deal with customs and paying extra fees and having weed related things logged onto my bank account. Plus I don't like working with dry nutrients. But that's just me.
