Using C02(Carbon dioxide) in my grow tent

Hello all, this will be my first attempt to grow. I have been watching videos and am confident my first grow will go well.

My question is: for a 2x2x4 setup, should I use a carbon dioxide bag? I saw a video where the grower was using Exhale. This bag can be cost around $40 with the shipping included.

I also saw youtube videos on how to make C02 by using bakers yeast, sugar, and water. Would this be a better,more inexpensive solution?

The comparison between the two is I would have to refill the DIY C02 daily ( I think ), While the exhale bag says it can last for 6 months

What do you growers recommend?

I’ve heard mixed things in my readings about those bags . I am new as well . But I’ve heard they do nothing and other say it makes a difference . I’ve also heard that unless you have one of those co2 bottles ( which need to be refilled every so often ) it works . They also have like commercial grade set ups but they cost bank . I wouldn’t even worry about co2 with a 2x2x4 unless you plan on putting the sun in there . Or atleast someone warned me when I was putting my set up together to not put too much light in a small grow room because I’ll be needing co2 for some reason. Idk I’m new too , just passing on what I’ve heard . The OGs on this page can further guide you .

Hey thanks dude! 2 people researching the same thing is bound to find more results! I just bought a 300W Light shown here. I was debating between a 150W and 300W and people said 300W will give you more yield. Also there is something as true watts, and 150W is only really outputting 70W or something, and plants need about 50 True watts.

Going back to the discussion of C02, I was watching a youtube video where the guy is demonstrating the c02 method. The one thing he points out is that by doing this method, you will need to aim the hose directly above the plants, because C02 is heavy and will fall. If this is the case, then you would potentially need 1 c02 bottle method per plant ( or make what he made in the video ). I'm also using a carbon filter filtration and fan and vent by Vivosun. Humidifier, fans.

Let me know what you end up doing. I also have my building heater and that definitely outputs a lot of c02 as well, but also is not good for me.

I’d skip the co2 bag . Use that money else where . As for light talk . Go with a reputable brand. Don’t focus so much on watts but par , lumens , and the most important in my opinion is ppe. Than use those numbers to focus on when going for bang for buck shopping . Not saying watts aren’t important , but watts are only gonna cost you , it’s th e performance of the watts being used that counts . Anyone correct me if I’m wrong , just what my researching has led me to believe . Rather be accurate.

If you plan on exhausting, which most of us do in tents, cO2 is useless. PPM and temp has to hit the right level for it to be effective. Sealed rooms are more ideal for cO2 enrichment. Like the above said, put your money toward other elements of your grow, you won’t be disappointed.
