I don't think fan leaves are useless either, not knocking conservatism. I also don't make anything of the stalks. If anyone wanted my stalks or fan leaves I would totally give them to them in lieu of burning them.

I'm the same way about the stems and have been for over 40 years. My grower has the same attitude as you about the fan leaves. He was going to throw them away until I asked for it. I had almost a pound, OG Kush and Blue Widow strains, so there was something to work with and when you live on a low fixed income, you make the most of what you can get.

It's no problem. Why waste something that provides additional quality pain relief as well as a great buzz? Because of the pain I have, every little bit helps. Admittedly the return is less but still worth doing. There are various ways to remove the excess chlorophyll so that you don't get the plant taste, water cure and dry ice hash are two that come to mind. I'll write up a thread with all my fan leaf tips and post it here in the edibles section since it really is preparation for that. I'll eventually post some edible guides, too, and your friends will never know that you used fan leaf because you have no nasty weed aftertaste. Give me a couple of days since I can't sit at the keyboard long at a sitting, but I'm happy to share.

When I used to grow, not a leaf was wasted in my house.

You can use leaf for cooking but you might have to find a very strong strain. I used to get high off leaf all the time while waiting for my bud to grow (I grew White Widow). I also use to grind up all my leaf at the end and make oil, and that oil would knock me on my ass it was so strong.
