Is there any reason why I shouldn't plug the controller into an extension cord or power strip? I'm short of wall outlets. I run 600w hps, a .8amp 170cfm fan and a couple small Honeywell floor fans. So: wall outlet->extension cord->power strip->Titan Zephyr 2->timer->lights.
You ended up getting it after all. Nice!
I don't see why not. It doesn't appear that you will be overloading that strip, from what you listed. But don't put anything else on there
What kind of timer are you using? Digital? Mechanical?
Because, if digital, i would check and make sure that it will power your light back on, if that shutdown switch actually had to work. Some digital timers will, some won't. The ones that won't, will only turn a device back on, once the timers "on" cycle is triggered again. Make sense?
You might have to put the shutdown switch after timer, rather than before it. If you have to put it after timer: set the delay on the switch to 15 min. And set your timer to come on 15 min. earlier. Your light will then turn on, on time.
Hope this made sense.
