UV options for LED? Would it even help?

Hello lighting geniuses! Wondering what type of UV supplementation there is for LEDs and/or if it really even matters?? I’ve had very successful grows with Kessils and Area 51 panels in the past, but girls don’t seem to frost up quite like my 315w LEC. Is it placebo? I know I could supplement the LECs with LEDs but the OCD in me wants to keep things efficient and uniform. Any input would be much appreciated!

Led uv lights aren't really that good. The best ones are solarcure and Argomax pure uv. I'm not really sold on UV supplementation.

Thanks! I’ll look into those tonight. I’ve mostly run CMHs and LEDs for the past 4 years and I really think the UV helps...slightly. I’ve never had a chance to do a clone comparison, so I was wondering if anyone else thinks the same. I read that flower produces more trichs to protect herself from UV so I can’t wait to hear some feedback!

I am interested in outfitting some old 2-ft t5 lights with some uv chips and a driver on a special timer, if the price is right

out of memory i want to quote a mel thomas quote::
three 10 minute cycles of UV light during the peak hours of the day increased potency

I think running a low wattage light like that 30 mins a day wouldnt cost so much and you would easily tell the effect of it at the end of the grow, without a huge initial cost investment for the experiment

I get your asking for others experience, but if you look there are alot of experiments that verify UV light is good.
personal experience from me, with indoor and outdoor experience. Outdoors always is my go-to for smoke! replicate that shit. Uv is natural so do whatever you can to replicate it but not over do it

We've got some new Uv bars incoming..... We will be sure to get one to ya soon. They really are nice and are designed to bolt onto the 550. We added a receptacle on the cord so it can be run daisey chained to the 550 or other uv bars.
Is it the HLG 36? I've thought about getting a couple of those, but it looks like you're out of stock. I have 2 260 Rspec's, a 135 Rspec, and 3 100's so far.

Interesting...wonder why only 30 min?

Yeah I’ve had best results with CMH, but wanted other opinions/LED options. I’d like to do an all LED if I can find a better way than reptile bulbs. Gonna have to read above. I’m gonna throw a couple of magenta Kessils I have collecting dust over some corners of my LEC footprint.

What was the diff in % Do you use UV?
There's at least one published research article from an accredited college documenting the difference from UV. Solarcure also has results from independently verified tests on their website. Proper UV supplementation increases THC by about 25% of the total of the control. So a 20% thc result would increase by about 5% to a total of 25%.

Some commercial greenhouses also report decreases in certain pests and funguses and diseases after increasing UV content through supplemental lighting or glazing that transmits more UV.

Hi there Stephen, I purchased a few of your lights from quickblooms aus, your retailer, Ive emailed you about a failed driver and Soren also emailed you, we are waiting for a reply, going on 4 days, i will have to buy another light locally as cant have plants in the dark, so this is urgent.
The HLG 550s were very expensive to buy in my country initially due to our currency difference, and I was the first to purchased HLGs products in New Zealand.

Have you received our emails?

Great lights

Thank you

Dan
what has that to do with the topic? those private messages are there for a reason. use them instead of derailing someone’s thread.
