ValuLine Lighting

That is a link to the Lighting I just bought. I want to know if it will work good and for the price that I paid for it.

The ValuLine Lighting Systems from Custom Automated Products are the best value priced garden light systems available. The cases are powder coated galvanized steel, vented to provide cool operation. They have a vibration dampening system for noise reduction. They are very quiet. All ValuLine lighting can be run at 120 or 240 volts. No rewiring is necessary. 240 volt power cords are available below. They will all run either M.H. or H.P.S. bulbs (with the exception of 600w which will run H.P.S. bulbs only.) All ValuLine fixtures feature a detachable lamp and power cord for ease of use and setup. ValuLine Lighting Systems carry a 5 year rebuild or replacement warranty (1 year on the bulb). They are available with many different reflectors to match your needs. All lighting systems come complete with bulb and your choice of reflectors!

i don't know if it will work well as I am not familiar with this brand but i can tell you it was significantly cheaper than my ballast. Did you pay for the upgraded bulbs?

Do you have a reflector or did you get one of those as well?

Yeah it comes with a refelctor. I got the 1000W and no I did not get the upgraded bulb because I am going to buy one from another site that is better. But do you think it will work? Right now I am using the lights that are in my pics..... So I hope it works well. Gratz PETE247 on getting it. You should of got the 1000w :)

Also how much more electrical bill go up? Will it use a lot?

I have the Valuline 400W switchable ballast and it works just fine, no problems with it at 16/8 every day for the last 2 months or so.

What is the difference between the two and whats better to use? Its been about a month and two weeks and I am about to put my plants into flowering. Is it ok to go from 24/24 lighting to 22/2 then every two days go down 2 hours till 12/12? or everyday go down two hours not sure what I want to do.

The standard advice is MH is cooler/bluer and is better for vegetative growth
and
HPS is warmer/redder and is better for flowering and bud production.

You can gradually reduce the light but the flowering mechanism won't trigger until it gets at least 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness. I am unaware of any major benefits to gradually reducing the amount of light.

So I recommend HPS for flowering and just switch to 12/12 when you are ready to begin.
