Vaporizers $150 and less: what has your experience with them been?

Looking to buy a vaporizer for a relative. I'm hoping to get some reviews of the cheaper vaporizers out there. Looking at the Blue Meanie, the Vapor Box, and the Vapir Air One 5.0 . Have any of you used any of these, or similarly priced models? If so, please weigh in. Your experience will be appreciated.

I'm a broke ass, so I want to go as cheap as I can, and still have an adequate product. It must deliver at least as much (but preferably more) bang per gram as smoking, and should be reasonably easy to use (the relative is elderly and scenile, but would be using it with minimal supervision). It can't be the kind that you hold over a flame (scenility...).

I know next to nothing of marijuana. But contemplating growing 1 or two plants for a relative's medicinal use. Can't test vaporizer myself, because I don't toke. (I don't like it, and they drug test at work.)

Let me hear from you. :)

I have the Silver Surfer Vaporizer and it's worked fantastic for me. It might be a bit pricey though. I think it was $250 on their website. But High Times did review several Vapes of all price ranges in an issue about a month ago or so. I can't seem to find my copy, but you may check out that issue for some good info.

I got a vaporizer off ebay for like 60 bucks, and it's the same build/quality as the ones they sell in head shops for 150-200$, has a digital temp gauge and cool trippy rainbow colored lights. Came with a grinder too, so...

Go ebay my man!

I definitely recommend the SSV. The owner and the products are great! They have an awesome gallery here in Colorado Springs with over ten full time glass blowers and about 1000 pieces on display from all over the world. They discount some models for us, maybe they have a nick in the side or a scratch, so they cant sell them full price. I can get you a brand-new, fully functioning, never been used Buddha for around $100.

Sweet. One thing I always wonder about the Volcano; besides being plastic... doesn't the taste get stale? Looks like from that video you get about 4 lung fulls of what actually looks more like smoke then vapor. Amazing how simple the system is and how much they make off it.

i had my heat a little high. i had just gotten it and was still figuring it all out. i have filled a bag and left it on the couch for half an hour then come back and hit it. it tastes the same.

I personally own a VaporBrothers vape. It's an amazing piece of machine, particularly the new models with ceramic heat elements and handsfree whips or bubblers.

When I first purchased mine it was $175 or so. But they now sell them for $155 with a 2 year warranty and upgrade guarantee. I plan to pay the small fee to upgrade my machine to the model with the ceramic heater element and the handsfree whip.

I've tried a few vapes in my time (not the Volcano though), and I feel comfortable recommending the VB to anyone. Check them out: www.vaporbrothers.com.
