What you and your kind are really saying is

" I read forums and watch you-tube videos, and follow all the political tabloids! Because of this, I'm more in the know, and my opinion is correct because ya know all those professionals that did 8-10 years in universities in specialized fields of profession, and have multiple degrees, and 20+ years of daily experience are just wrong about everything, it's all a giant conspiracy and no one can tell me what to put in my body."

yup, sounds about "common sense" in today's world :wall:

Who is this “we”?
I don’t do the dark web so I assume that is your source?

We are those willing to learn, as opposed to those who think they already know everything and have their mind made up.
BTW, which shot did you get? The Trump shot? Moderna never succeeded in bring a vaccine to the market before covid, but suddenly they just whip one up in a few months and put it on the market.
Again. These vaccines are still being tested. Vaccines usually take about 7 years to be properly tested before they are determined safe and effective.
You are a guinea pig 100%, but, hey, if you're good with that, I'm good with that.

Community? I'm in direct contact with 5-10 different people a month. Keep living packed on top of each other and communicable disease will be a much larger part of your life than mine.

Sigh...

This "well, WE are in rural areas so...." doesn't hold up because WE are highly social beings. We may live on a farm but we go to church, we manage that Friday evening fish fry, we do Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Only visit with 15 people? But they only visit with 15 and they only visit with 15. Compound that with the nature of this particular illness, where it isn't detected for days after infection, and folks now are in denial anyway and people catch it.

It is postulated that the Spanish flu did not finally abate until every person on earth had been exposed. There are tiny towns in Alaska and the Canadian shield where people are buried. They were exhumed, defrosted and, well how about that. they had died from Spanish flu.

Everyone has a date with covid. It all comes down to how well prepared we are when it arrives.

no we don't..we no know such thing.

citation or you are promoting disinformation and your post should be deleted.
We who aren't ignorant of the facts do. Investigate it if you want. I know no matter what I present to you you'll scoff at it.
The bottom line here as far as I'm concerned is that if you're happy with your vaccine status, I'm happy with it too. Party on....

If you like your vaccination status, you can keep it.

I can't wait until cigarettes are illegal, and McDonald's cuts people off at 200lbs for public health. Then maybe you guys will be happy.

Are we "ok" with a perpetually drunk driver in our neighborhood?

How about if he is a very very good drunk driver?

But it is more than that now. Our community and personal habits are now ingrained. We tend to become more complacent in the face of repetitive similar threat.

We now see a new varient that may be more deadly and even more infectious. Most will resist new warnings and new prescribed safety measures.

The guy who is "ok" with things as they are now is unlikely to not be ok with change. So should this new threat be more dangerous, folks who didn't adjust earlier will become ever more dangerous in the future.

This pandemic has hurt us because it isnt horrible enough. People are not bleeding out on the subway, they are not convulsing in the streets. They are whisked off to sequestered rooms to die in their own fluids alone and unwitnessed.
There is no panic, no horror. We are victims of our own efficiency.

There is a story of a doctor who rode to his hospital on a trolley during the 1918 pandemic. He rode one day while watching several other passengers drop off the trolley after turning blue, dying on their short ride. When the conductor fell dead at his controls the doctor walked the rest of the way.

This sort of thing tends to galvanize the population at large.

We have no such urgency now.
