Sorry I know there are plenty of ventilation threads but here's another...
I finally got around to fully sealing up my box. My awesome picture should be pretty easy to understand. Wooden shell, 600w/6inch air cooled hood, 6 inch/340 cfm inline exhaust fan (top/back), 4inch passive intake (bottom/front). Forgot to add that the box is 3ft x 3ft x x5.5ft.

Sealing everything up included:
-Adding the 4inch intake, instead of leaving the door ajar.
-weather stripping the door.
-adding latches to pull it shut.
once this was done it was obvious there was a lot of pressure built up.
There were a few problems I did not foresee.
1. i will not be able to see inside once its sealed...This was a brilliant moment!
so i drilled a small hole to see the action, planning on sealing it up. It is about 3/4-1inch, directly across from the intake.
2. More importantly, I noticed that the 4 inch intake doesn't seem to be pulling much air through, although when I put my hand on it there's plenty of air flow.
So to find out I made some room, and shut myself in.
I found that when the door shut the difference in the air that was being sucked into the hood vs. when the door is wide open was a lot.
And the intake didn't really seam to be pulling much. Although I know its a decent amount.
The thing that confuses me is that I decided to see what happens when I unplug the peep hole, and air rushes through with a lot more force that the 4 inch.
should I just make another 4 inch intake in the lower back, will this solve my issue and pull enough air in.
I would also like to hear peoples thoughts on negative pressure, whether I should just leave it, the fan was only 80 bucks...
Should I ditch the fan this summer, and just get a portable ac unit?
