A couple three days ago I saw on the local news that the f-35's down at Tyndall were playing with live ammo. The first time for the 95th to fire their missiles.

I think they used the Saipan for target practice too. I would have much preferred the traditional method of disposal. Being turned into razor blades. The old girl nicked me a time or two.What a lousy thing to do to a Phantom.
The CGC Point Welcome was also used for impromptu target practice during the Vietnam conflict.
LtJg Ross Bell became Capt Ross Bell and was later the skipper of the 210 I was on and the best CO I ever had the pleasure of working with!
