i was hoping someone who uses this type of system could give me a few to pick there brain i am thinking seriously about building one.
and i was hoping to see some Detailed information on the unit.

myself and a couple of friends are engineers and we are prepairewd to try and design a full blown working unit once we have the idea how it works.
once we have the blueprints made we will likely have Several Sets of wheels made via laser cutting

i just need some detailed pictures!

I have successfully engineered two rotating gardens.

They were modeled specifically after the bonsai garden.

Your in for some shit. let me tell you.

Total cost came to $2200 a piece, IMO I should have spent 3k for metal designed bonsai's that dont have the problem of losing time.

There are specials online where you can get two digital 600 watt lights as well for 3k.

I am currently trying to get used GI grows for $1800 a piece with lights,

There are better ways to go... than building it yourself...

wow built a rotating garden yourself. That is crazy. I could never do it.

Its actually quite a simple device when you break it down, just a rotating cylinder with a ebb an flow table...

i would love to see what ya built.
i was gonna have the rings cut via laser.

you can find volksgardens for sale online for less then 2K with a 600 watt ballast with both halide and sodium bulbs adn you will never be able to make em out of steel for less then that, I have looked into it and I am an engineer.

Same here matter of fact you are the one i wanted to talk to. would you mind taking some detailed images of your omega?? i am in the fortunate position of not only having hardcore engineers at my disposal i also have the biggest machine shop :-)

i want to build an omega but i want to know as much about dimensioning as i can.
is it chain driven? what ratios? hp motor what type?
Technical specs. rpm on the motor?

once i have good images ill whip up an iges and throw it in the Vericut then off to laser to make the wheels.
i am pretty sure i can develop a better system of i can see some details.
i am really interested in the Drive system.

The Volksgarden are extremely small.

For ours we actually used plastic lumber plywood sheets, you know the stuff they are making decks out of these days, well the also make 4x8 sheets of any thickness plywood.

we just had them driven by surface contact with a welded wheel, we just geared it out till we got 1 rotation a minute.

If you have such a badass shop and all then you can afford to buy an omega and reverse engineer it duude.

the volksgarden is the same diameter as the omega but its only a one light system so the cylinder is 1/2 the length of the omega one

Actually the volkgarden and a few other are 34 inches diameter, and the Omega is 48.

this is from my memory so dont quote me.

the volksgarden is 49 inches in diameter and the omega is 48". I have yet to see a 34" diameter rotary garden. I don't think you have your facts straight.

Most of the companies make thier 120 (the smallest versions) only 34-36 in diameter, and the upgraded versions are the full 48.

Do you own a Volksgarden, because I could swear that when I saw it, it wasnt 4 feet for the wheel, it just didnt look nearly as big as our wheels diameter was.

Hey maybe the volksgarden is 4 feet, im just saying when I saw one it didnt look very big to me.

Plus the cylinder's length was puny, compared to our which were 6 feet long.

I dont know man.

I have been to the trade shows and have seen most of the wheel gardens and like I said I have never seen a wheel smaller then 48 inch diameter. both of the ones you have posted here are larger then 48" diameter.

The length of the volksgarden is for one light. It is also a solid rotationally molded cylinder so it needs to be the right size to go through a doorway or else you cant get it into your house, the little details.

Two volksgardens will produce equal to one omega and you will pay a lot more for one omega then you will for two volksgardens. I see em online with lighting (600 watt lamps) for less then 2K
