Lol I truly must laugh at the Clinton supporters. How can a woman that didn't know what the letter "c" stood for be capable to be our president? Common people there was not one person that was capable in this election. But those of you that are just blindly supporting Clinton after all the shit she has done are no better than the trump supporters. Wafj ( what a fucking joke)

A petition started this morning on Change.org has started a process to have the Electoral College bow to the popular vote, and refuse to nominate Trump as the 45th POTUS. This is from Yahoo

The election of Donald Trump as president is a bitter pill to swallow for millions of Americans — and some are backing a quixotic campaign to reverse that outcome.

As of Friday afternoon, more than 2.4 million people had signed a petition to the U.S. Electoral College, urging its members to ignore their states’ votes and cast their ballots for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic,” wrote Elijah Berg, who launched the petition on Change.org.

Berg, of North Carolina, argued that the Electoral College can award the White House to either candidate and should use its own “most undemocratic” institution to ensure a “democratic result.”

I signed this morning and at that point there were 1 million signees, and by this afternoon it had expanded to over 2 million.

Let's keep up the good work to dump that POS, and let the popular vote decide who will be the next POTUS.
If you think this election is a farce, go to Change.org and vote.

God bless the Republic. (fuck Trump)
I despise the outcome as much as you but he won by the current rules. I've posted long before this election I don't like the the 19th century electoral college. It was like a 'buffer' to make sure 'we the people' didn't accidentally fuck up and if we did, they could fix it for us.

To those who say they wouldn't be represented properly without the EC, I would say that's why you have a congressman and a senator.

The only downside would be if you had a close election, you wouldn't want to recount all 125,000, 000 votes. It would make Florida 2000 look like nothing.

But every other free country just counts the votes. The EC reminds me of gerrymandering in a strange sort of way. I'm not complaining about this election as he won by the rules. But in the future, shouldn't it be the person who gets the most actual votes?

Trump won by the laws currently in place. If he is denied the presidency, it will 100% prove his claim that "the system is rigged". As much as any of us hate the outcome, it must stand.

I agree that the Electoral College should be abolished, and that the presidency should be determined by popular vote. But until that becomes law, the current laws must be upheld.

Just because Hillary got the most votes here doesn't mean she would have if the election had been determined by popular vote. Because under popular vote circumstances, the candidates would have campaigned much differently than they did for this election.

For example, Trump knew he had no chance in California, so he didn't campaign much there, because the individual votes he got there gained him nothing. But had the election been about popular vote, he would have probably campaigned more there to get the votes he could.

This is much like Hillary's decision not to campaign much in Alabama, because she knew she had no chance there.

Does she ever feel cheated that you spend her last days online talking about nothing. What does she say when she sees you or can she talk ?

I think the electoral college is a leftover from a time when instant communication was impossible. modern technology makes it an anachronism more suitable for gaming elections than honestly supporting them.

I'm not saying the Chump wasn't elected fairly. Under the current rules, he won. I don't like it but I accept the voice of democracy... DNC shenanigans aside.

I think it's time we simply got rid of the electoral college system altogether. By constitutional amendment if necessary.
Also, because many regular folk in the 1700s only possessed a 3rd grade level education, those with 'means and discernment' were voted as their representatives.

I do believe it's time to revamp that which came from a time where blood-letting was standard medical treatment and witch burning as the way to get rid of your political enemies.

I have heard that the recount is now showing Trump got both the majority and the electoral college vote. If that turns out to be true then is your argument still the same?

Last I saw, she was up four hundred thousand nation wide, with five million ballots left to count in California:-)

Well, you probably are not reading the same news I am. The lead is over 400,000 popular votes for Clinton, and climbing due to the delay in counting absentee ballots. That is fact.

I'm already freaked out, and so should anyone that thinks that the majority of voters should be counted and not dismissed by some archaic law that should not be allowed in 2016. It's bullshit.

Amen I think the Republicans did it to Gore and now Hillary, They both happened after two very good Presidents were running the country and it was doing very well in both cases, I really believe that happens and they really don't want us to be happy.

Further more I don't see the U.S. was in bad shape we were climbing out of a deep hole and headed in the right direction again.

You just need to remember who THEIR constituents are; the ultra wealthy. Once you understand who they work for, the rest is easy.

The US economy is in awful shape; we have identified several basic problems but have done nothing to address them. All the conditions that caused the last great crash are still in place and making things ever worse, ensuring the next crash will be A. inevitable and B. more devastating. The final straw is that it appears a majority of Americans think re-electing those who make things worse economically will somehow resolve the situation in their favor.

Just call me Pollyanna, lol

I would have liked this post except for the last sentence. We are in trouble. Lets see what trump can do to make it better. Congress writes the budgets and spends the money however, not the president.
