Water Distillers

OK guys, so I've often though about using RO water but never got round to it. However, today I just got a magahome water distiller for silly money (guy didn't know what it was and neither did I at the time). Anyhow it turns out it will turn out about a litre an hour of PURE distilled water, better than RO, but uses loads of electric and produces heat in doing so.
So, I'm thinking run it in the room at lights-off to top up the res with clean water and provide some heat.
My only worries are raising humidity in the room at lights-off.
Has anyone tried this before?

You will HAVE to add cal-mag. There is absolutely none in distilled water. Put the distiller somewhere else besides the grow room. Heat and humidity problem solved. Your electric bill will take a hit, no way around it.

Mag I'm prepared for (epsom salts). My lights-off temps are very low, that's part of my thought process for using this. Obviously I'm in hydro.
Why is distilled not good for growing but RO is ok?

I use distilled and have never had a problem with it. I add Cal Mag to it also.

I didn't say it's not, but you do need to add calcium and magnesium. Of course, if you're in hydro, you have to add everything. It's just tap water usually has enough cal-mag, but not always. I add cal-mag to my RO water, too.

Ya Didn't mention hydro.
Being hydro I assume you're adding oxygen? if so,, then you may be on the riight track.

I have an air pump for the res algae etc but run F&D, every 4 hrs with tiny hydroton netpots and roots hanging in air. This is kind of an experiment. Hybrid DWC/F&D I guess.
