Water Vs Rockwool cloning - an idea...opinions wanted

Right well my 2 indica dominant clones took and now are growing and healthy (well, one of them is brilliant, the other one isn't looking AS good with a few yellow/yellow-edged leaves still coming out but the top's looking pretty green still so I'm not too worried)

ANYWAY...

My first time cloning in rockwool was a complete disaster, but water cloning works fine...

I wanted your opinions on a combined method I've just devised - hows about sticking the clone in wet rockwool then leaving it and instead of getting the ROCKWOOL wet every day, I just dip it into water for a few minutes/however long to get it nice and wet every 2-3 days then leave it out of water til next time? COULD it speed the cloning time up a bit do ya reckon? Theres also the whole "humidity dome" thing (I use an empty bin with the lid half off, no humidity dome and a single suspended CFL...) just thinking if i WERE to try it would it be best to use one or not? In water the stems are constantly wet obviously and in rockwool they dry out a bit, which can help the roots grow...

What do ya reckon? Could it work? Does/has anyone else use this method? (at WORST its gonna be just like water cloning I would've thought, but correct me if I'm wrong...)

I have and still do use both methods and have used soil also (this is not my favorite) Personally one works about the same as the other for me. In the rockwool once I have inserted my cutting with root tone I wet the cube until it holds the water without dripping and place in my makeshift humidity dome, spray with water(usually I add a drop of superthrive) twice daily and keep under the dome. I open the dome for a few minutes twice a day usually when misting. This dome sets atop my dsl modem for some warmth and have a 23 watt cfl close by for some light. I do not overly saturate the rockwool only keeping it damp. With water I add a from my mister with the superthrive already added and place on the dsl modem with cfl.
Both give me good results and very few failures. Most failures are either strains that don't clone well for me such as El Monstre, my personal hardest to clone, or from me screwing up and getting off my schedule. Hope this helps and answers your question, Happy Growing.
