water

Toss an air stone in it and let it bubble overnight. If you use RO water, then you need to add supplemental trace minerals that are removed via RO. Most, but not all, nutes expect those trace minerals to be present in the water and/or soil. Without them, you will see problems in your plants. If you add too much of the trace minerals, you will have problems which is probably why they are not added to most nutes.

If you are worried about the chlorine hurting your plants, they most likely will be fine without having to let the water sit. I've seen many examples of people using fresh tap water, including many grows myself, and the plants don't seem to notice. However, if you are worried about the chlorine possibly killing beneficial microbes you may have added, then def let it sit out.

I am forced to let mine sit out now because I use microlife in my water. For many grows I used it fresh without sitting, and I see no difference in my plants or yield/quality.

Most chlorinated water only needs to sit for an hour before the chlorine is evaporated (5 gal pail). Now if your talking a 45 gal drum with a little bung hole were looking at 10 to 15 hours. If the top is cut off 5 hours.

So over night is cool. Air stone is always good but you don't need it.
